    Fresh coat of paint

So while work was quiet over the chrissy and new year period i decided to respray the zed and go back to a stock front and rear bar. I got sick of constantly chipping the old fibreglass body parts and also stock parts fit flush as compared to my cheap bomex stuff.
I used acrylic paint again, i was thinking of using 2k paint but that would mean sanding off 2 previous acrylic paintjobs so that the 2k paint would stick properly. It came out quite glossy off the gun this time as i lowered the spraying pressure to 30psi instead of 50 and thinned the paint more than reccomended. Usually when you spray acrylic clear it comes out quite cloudy and makes the colour turn a matte till its cut and polished. These pics are straight off the gun, il cut and buff it in a month or so once the paint has somewhat cured. Il take some higher quality pics once its cut and buffed and the all the outside trim etc is back on.

Well today I got a flat battery. Discovered it was because the brake light was stuck permanently on.

Did an internet search and found this thread http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322568

Went and carefully looked at drivers carpet and sure enough found this

Problem solved (well it will be when the new one arrives).

Today I got a flat battery.
Well actually is been flat since November... But I jump started it and turns out it wasn't taking a charge at 11.76V.

Put a new battery in it and still goes hard after a decent hiatus :p. Small victory is that the alternator is charging so that doesn't need replacing. Winning!
Now to see how I go for Rego in a few weeks time.

A mate and I got stuck in a z31 and got it running, pulled motor and box in one, then had fun finding out why one of my 32s would not start, list of things we did first battery(good and charged) pulled plug (good no water in cylinder) replaced starter we did not need to do this because after all that it still would not start, I'm glad my mate can do electrical it was the ignition switch.

Rego is due soon, so I checked that all lights were operational.
Turns out I had a blown fog light bulb. Checked power to the connector with multimeter, tried to undo the globe holder, but realized I'd need to get a 10mm spanner to finish the job (only had a philips head handy). The winning fix was to unplug the working fog light connector - now I have no fog lights! Crisis averted!

ADR 13-00 section 6.3 "front fog lamps"
presence: optional on motor vehicles, prohibited on trailers

I don't need them, hence I, or the inspector shouldn't be bothered if they are not operational.
Having one working, and one not working is a problem though. I opted for none working.
I'll fix it at a later date if I can be bothered.
