The silver cars motor has a forged bottom end with factory heads while the red ones motor is all stock except for ACL race bearings.
Ok well the plazmaman fmic is pretty busted too, the impact has pushed it back into the chassis rails and crushed the end tanks.....another bit for scrap hey. Need to sort out a tech day or five to get these coilovers and big brakes installed, then pull the motor again to throw the GT28RS's on.
Damn, sucks its turned out to be so badly knocked around. What coilover's & brakes was on it, may have missed that bit? Impul skirts & rear bar are nice though & worth saving
The suspension is bilstein and the brakes are 324mm rotors on a stock TT caliper. Much better than what is on my red TT atm!
This is not my map. This is stock timing map. My map is more responsive and safe(4400rpm under 24 degrees if SMIC). But tuned timing map is depends on intercooler size also Front mount or side mount, AFR,engine condition etc. So I think need real time tune.
Well even with all the bad news about the silver car there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I managed to get a better job over the last couple of weeks and i can comfortably do more to get the car to where i want it. I'm thinking to: Rebuild the forged motor with new rings/bearings/headgaskets. Get the heads worked over with some cams (260-ish duration with as much lift as possible) Send the 28RS's to Hypergear in Melbourne to get a GTX2867 or equivalent highflow. Then when the time comes get a TH400 and see how quick it can go.
Hahah i still need time to pull that engine out, night shift really kills me sometimes But i've spoken to Stao at Hypergear and i'll be sending him the 28RS's and he'll be machining the housings and fitting/balancing some GTX2867 compressor wheels into them, turbine end looks to be the same between the two. He told me for a bit extra he can get his billet 74mm in but i'm leaning toward the GTX compressor.
Just for anyone interested, Hypergear quoted me $100 for balancing and $150 for machining per turbo, Kinugawa Billet copies of the GTX67 compressor wheel are $185 delivered from Japan so if anyone is interested in upgrading their 28RS's to GTX variants the option is there.
th400 will rob power but you will never worry about a broken tranny hahaha those things are bullet proof. congrats on the job!
