Hey All, So despite the 2+2 offering almost no room for people in the back seat... still hasn't stopped us cramming people in.. Was just wondering if there were any other benefits/perks the 2+2 offered over the 2+0? Cheers
It has a better weight distribution. 2 seater is stated as 55/45 front/rear weight distribution and 2+2 is 53/47.
Some insist the 2 seaters handle better + they're slightly lighter of course but the 2+2's have more potential buyers when it comes time to sell. I've made use of the rear seats lots of times, big advantage in my opinion.
2+2 implies longer wheelbase which helps with a higher speed stability. Certainly desirable for roads like the Autobahn. That said the 2+0 is more nimble/agile for turn in.
The 2+2 should handle better than the 2+0 due to the weight distribution and longer wheel base. For track work, there are a lot more 2+2's. The 2+2's are a lot more forgiving in case the back "accidentally" kicks out due to the longer wheel base.
Having had both , a 2+2 tt and now the 2+0 convertible it's all a mater of choice and what you think the car is capable of doing. To me the TT definitely had the grunt and the pace, but the 2+0 n/a is better on the fuel, handles a tad better, and the BEST PART no annoying friends wanting rides, then complaining about no room in the back.
A bit cheaper to paint I folded my rear seat down one day and it stayed that way for 3 months. It creates a nice hidden shelf to stow a jacket or bag. Most people thought it was a 2+0 that looks like it has a sleeker roof line.
The JUN/Blitz Bonneville Z32 was a 2.0 seater.........419.84 km/h There goes the 2+2 with its longer wheelbase having better high speed stability theory!
