VIC The Big Loop Cruise 23rd feb 2014

Time: 9-9:30am meet up at Café Z, 1530 Main Rd Research VIC 3095, and departing 10:00am

The Cruise is near enough to not matter 6hrs bum in Z time! 2 up from the last Big Loop. This will be an epic run that is 95% picturesque twisties, so the 6hrs will fly by!

We will meet up at Café Z (Yes its very fitting) in Research. Unfortunately it doesn?t appear that the Café will be open on the Sunday, but if you?re not an early bird and didn?t get up in time for brekky, then try and plan your trip to the meeting point where you fill up with petrol and grab a coffee and food prior.

First stop will be a quick one in Kinglake (~35mins drive) like last time. I think some of you met up with the group there (Mick?). There is a Bakery and a Foodworks if you decide you still have the munchies

We will then shoot up through Yea and onwards to Mansfield (~86mins drive) where we will stop for lunch. This stop will be about an hour or so. At this stop it is recommended if you?re a bit low on fuel to fill up during the lunch break as there is no petrol stations up Mount Buller! It is the best part of 2hrs to climb the mountain and return to Mansfield so please make a good judgment . At the top we will be able to roam about, take in the scenery and fresh mountain air! We will see about an opportunity for photos as well. There is some cafes up there to grab a coffee and some food if need be. We will spend whatever time we feel is necessary and then depart.

Heading back down the mountain we can stop at Mansfield if anyone requests. If not, we will continue on to Alexandra (~1hr 36mins) where we will stop for a breather and a yarn. There will be a chance for Food, piss and Fuel at this stop.

Next and final stop will be Healesville (~53mins) Where there will also be another chance for Food, piss and Petrol. From here it?s about a 35min drive through Yarra Glen and back to Café Z completing this almighty Loop!

I will let it come down to personal preference whether you follow me back through to the starting point. But I understand It may be faster for others to get home if they split off based on where you live in Melbourne or surrounding areas.

Some rules: We will try this?again "keep the car behind you in sight". It?s not a Race! We will be sharing the road with slow cars, fast Motorcyclists and more than likely cyclists. So take care and use your brain in the twisties. If someone falls behind, breaks down or falls off the cliff. Slow down and signal to the driver ahead that they need to slow down or pull over?This should then cascade up the pack.

Hope to get a good turn out again! We have been slack last year and the other states are laughing! I?m referring more to those that were going to the GOR but didn?t show up to the impromptu cruise when GOR was cancelled?.just no excuse!

in alexandra there is a really good pub that does 40 diff types of palmas..

so if you need a feed go in there.. comercial hotel..

just making sure i can have the day off.. i will be there..

if you want to play laser tag or something on the way back.. we have a venue in chirnside park..

Got work off and are good to go. Hopefully I have time for an oil change, ps pump replace and wire in my gauges

Hangin out... will do the pre flight checks Friday Arvo... Oh & a note to those with space saver spare wheels, it's 60lbs not 35lbs... they tend to go flat within 4 km on 35 lol

 

3 more days, can't wait my first cruise in the zed since '09!!!
