the side wings, no need for them? makes it look a little tw-z. I can't see the front edge properly (diff end) in the pics, but that should be upturned to deflect the air.

Standing up close to the car = nothing to see here:

Becomes visible but relatively subtle from another angle:

    Hard to miss from here:

NOTE: the radius of the fold where the panel meets the corners of the bumper would be adjusted to be closer to the shape of the bumper for production units.

Aerodynamic influence - it wont be the perfect be all and end all race winning super hi tec wonder fix BUT as said it has got to be better than nothing :)

The prototype version is butted right up to within 5mm of the diff cooler, production versions will be within ~10mm of the stock diff and will be made to fit with a stock exh system.
IF you have an after market exh system you may have to modify the panel by trimming to suit, worst case if it has no chance of fitting I'm sure someone else would purchase it so you could recoup costs.

If a template or plan or a really good picture from on the floor while the car is on a hoist is provided a custom version could be made, this MAY cost extra depending on the details.

Just test drove the prototype on the way home, passed the test - it looked good and didn't fall off

The "fences" (the bits that drop down on the sides) are bolted on and could be left off if you wanted a more subtle look :)

There would also be a couple of very small folds added to the centre to add stiffness to prevent the panel "drumming" while on the road, I did not do this for the prototype as it wont alter the appearance drastically.

There is just the one at the moment but the interest looks to be good enough to get a batch under way :D

I will most likely wait until after Xmas so I am sure anyone who is interested has had a chance to offer their opinion on the design.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys :D

Roughly what would the resultant weight for this item be, once completed?

    I'm in for this.

I have the ebay spec 2.5 inch npower exhaust system that looks about the same as yours so fitment shouldnt be an issue. Plus I have a persuader or 2 kicking about.

I'll stop buying the comprehensive justin beiber collection on bluray - ( with signed poster ) and put the money aside for this. I might not get as many women in the long run but that is the sacrifice that needs to be made for z goodness.

Youll have more luck with one of these than a Juzzy Beiber album

So a prototype to suit the OEM diff and exh for the two seater has been made and is at the laser cutters for them to mass produce :D First batch should be ready around 10th Jan - sorry for the delay :(

The production version goes right up to within 10mm of the diff and the front edge is curved upwards, the back edge has had the same curve as the bumper added to it to improve the fit. The radius of the folds was increased to match the radius on the bumper.

Should come out pretty cool :D

Obviously being made from aluminium there is no serious issues with people trimming as required to make the work with various exh systems etc (within reason).

Again excuse the hardware I will provide decent looking gear for the job, I will also use rivnuts on the rear bracket.

If you want a more aggressive look there is room to drill holes and shift the "fences" to your preference or simply leave them off completely.

Total weight is not a lot maybe 1Kg, I haven't weighed one but it's not anything to worry about.

The brackets in the picture are for mock up prototype purposes only and will be made from much thicker material on the production versions.

Still time to change the design if any potential customers have valid points to be raised :D

I like, Glenn. Not sure it will work with my 4" exhaust though, it already hits on the electric HICAS.

Got a better pic from square on underneath?

I can see at least 80% of it would be no issue but that front right hand corner could be tricky and might need a custom bracket for that side and a bit of material trimmed from the corner.

Supply Evan with vodka, hammer, jigsaw and a drill and you should be sweet

Production prototype is done and ready to be test fitted :D

Will post pictures tonight, once this is confirmed as fitting and people are happy (enough) with it I can get the others done REALLY quickly :D

Will need to start a proper "for sale by business" thread and get the ball rolling.
Happy to work with whoever and do a bulk buy if people want, this makes shipping easier for me and saves a little in postage (saves the weight of packaging) also reduces chances of damage during transit.

I'm pretty sure the production prototype is in plain ally if anyone wants one in that spec, the rest will be anodised in black :D

Put some good pics up .

Want to see if I can modify/cut yours to fit my setup.

    Saves me starting from scratch.:)

Button head stainless steel fasteners, front edge rolled instead of bump folded:

Multiple mounting holes for adjustment, if more are required it's very easy to drill your own.

Folded edge will have radius adjusted to match the curve of the bumper:

Production prototype revealed the cover sits to close to the diff so 5mm will be removed off the front edge on the rest.

Should be PLENTY of room to get most exh systems past and there is room to trim the panel if required:

Yes pictures are from a cell ph, yes the car is a bit of a mess and missing the exh but I know where they run :)

If you're at all concerned about strength I held on the the sides and lifted myself off the ground to test it, ~95Kgs of gorilla swinging from it gave it a couple of small dents but held its shape well :D

    Update:

First batch of ten produced but rejected due to dimensional changes I did not request, replacement batch should be done tomorrow or Monday and will be anodised shortly afterwards.

Looking forward to getting a finished version on a car :D
