    Ha yeah AIV system consists of the two valves (in the fenders), one solenoid and associated plumbing.


    Nope; adjusting TPS may affect your idle but base idle should be controlled by idle air control valve. That article I linked shows you how to do it.

    Safe... Not really but you can't change that sensor without sone serious work.

    Its not dangerous
    Most people me included bypass it due to the amount of work involved until the the opportunity arises to replace it.
    From what i understand it is designed to protect the engine from high loads in low rpm situations like trying to drive up a hill in 5th at 40kmh . Drive correctly and it wont be an issue. Above 3000rpm the ECU turns it off anyway
    You do need to fix it though as code 34 causes bad fuel economy.
    I bought a resistor from jaycar for $1. Yes a bit pricy but i had to buy a strip of 5

    TESTED AGAIN YAY ITS THE HARNESS!!! very happy now. being a little slack lately havnt done much work on the car.

    how easy is the harness to change?

    Haha. Changing the wiring harness makes giving birth look like a pleasant and stress free stroll through the park. Id put money on survivng a chainsaw lobotomy before i do my own harness...

    How do you conclude the wiring harness is faulty and not the det sensor?

    Was just making sure there was a normal amount of me not actually being helpful in this thread. Wouldnt want to upset the balance ;)

    i did that multimeter test thats in the link you sent me (further back in the thread) my harness is only 147ohms resitance and on the link it says it should be 500ohms resitance
