Got a near stock 1990 twin turbo... And it's time to become a power freak. I'm looking for mass torque.. And to be able to be sitting by someone in 3rd, put my foot down, hear a mass spool (lag lag lag) and then *window goes down + wave* - bye bye! I'm just pretty much asking the best opinion for parts to make her pull hard. So far on the list - Bigger turbo's (don't know which yet.. Don't judge me ) - Electronic boost controller - Haltech ECU + choon Now, I'm looking at what other parts that will bring the torque... Bigger injectors, manifold, custom exhaust, cams, bigger throttle bodies, big SMIC, "doolz" intake system... Now I'm stuck. I don't what brand, what sites to get the parts... ETC. I haven't got much time to lurk around sites and find out, cause I've been really busy with a lot of bits and bobs lately... Not being lazy or anything, just genuinely seeking help. I will be posting a build thread when I get all the parts. Cheers in advance
Google CZP and Z1 for parts mate, can't go wrong with either of them. Everything you could ever but for a zed is on either of those two sites, and as for what parts, have a look through all the build threads on here, plenty of ideas!
Good advice from bRACKET... look through Z Rebuilds then hit those sites, particularly with our good Aussie dollar atm. By the way, is your avatar about choosing between the front door and the back door? If so, good to see you've got the fourth finger folded down, because never the twain shall meet..... Those websites are US based - so will pay a bit for shipping, email them for an exact quote. Still well worth it though! Personally I've found CZP better to deal with, but both are highly regarded. There's also http://www.courtesyparts.com in US and http://perfectrun.jp in Japan.
2 in the pink, one in the stink. And thank you for that. I'm looking at CZP atm. Just for interest, I've got 20,000-25,000 to dump into the engine.
Unfortunately no... But with the high aussie dollar, you save quite a bit. I agree, CZP is always a pleasure to deal with, parts always delivered to my door in around a week! Ordered from him a few times and never had an issue, highly recommended!
Woah, huge budget there... Have a look at the pre built engine packages CZP offers, great value, plus then you can spend more money on everything else haha.
Are they US spec since it's an American site? Or are they jap spec? I was trying to look at shipping, and all it had placed was local pickup, or somewhere in the states for $335 or so. No overseas... D: So the parts won't counter with the fact that it's jap spec?
20k = house deposit man, trust me your lady will allow almost anything back there when you have your own place I have to say I saw your z the other day, it is looking so clean with its 2000 spec front bar and Brazilian!
Looking at the long block stage 5/6 would be the best option, though if I didn't go with a pre-made package, would this be a good start... CZP 300ZX Ultimate 700HP Power Package, Full Stainless Steel Haltech ECU HKS Boost controller CZP 300ZX Wiseco, Eagle Engine Rebuild Kit A-1 w/ Cometic Head Gaskets Jun cam gears So far that's the list... Need to look at more.
Most things are interchangeable between US and Jap-spec... main things you need to be aware of are things that change over between left and right hand drive.... obviously drivetrain, etc - but also little things, like trim pieces don't match, ie. the power window compartments/switches are on opposite sides, and some centre console pieces angle the opposite way. If not sure, check with CZP if parts are ok for right hand drive cars or ask on forum. With CZP, they don't have a 'basket' you can keep things in for later, which is annoying - best thing to do is make a list of what you want and email CZP asking for shipping cost to Australia. Can also be a good opportunity to get some bodykit stuff, as that might not make a big difference to your shipping cost - a lot of the space inside a bodykit box can be filled with your other parts. Once they've replied and you're happy with the amount, you then place your order and select ground shipping - then add in the 'notes' section that 'Coz (or whoever you deal with) to adjust for international shipping'. And don't overlook decent handling and anchors for all that power - adjustable camber arms, suspension, tie rod ends, tension rods, strut braces, ladder bar, urethane bushings, big brake kit with upgraded callipers, pads and rotors..... Any left over for engine bay bling/rims/gandor mirrors?
Figured out it would only cost about 8,000-12,000 for my target. I'm getting KW coilovers, K sport brakes, all those other bits and bobs shouldn't pass $2,500. So totaling about $18,000 for parts.
I could never sell my zed. And I think my Z is quite tidy... Interior is perfect condition, body is near perfect... Selling my current Z to buy another one would be like putting up a baby for adoption just because another looks better.. I have an emotional bond with my baby.
Have you already bought the brakes? Maybe consider stoptech or rotora, z1 was doing excellent prices on the big rotora kits. While I'm sure the k sports will be ok they're kind of the opposite end of the scale to your kw coilovers. Even the z34 akebono kits might be a nicer option. For pre built engines a lot of the US guys swear by Kyle at IPP & Mitch at EPR Racing. Plenty of info on the US forums & Mitch has some builds written up here. Have a good read up on Rob's build too, UAS built him a monster of a motor/car. Check out blackbeast's build too.
I agree, but 20k??? I wanna know what sort of houses your getting for 200k... You don't even get a bedroom for that in Melbourne....
. 3 things to consider 1/ Engine build cost ,internal parts ,machining, assembly etc 2/supporting upgrades -turbos ,intakes, manis ,exhaust ,intercoolers ,ecu ,boost controller, fuel upgrade etc 3/cost of labour do this properly and you can pull another 20g out of your arse
