Haha I know, was a bit shattering actually :(

Whats the cut and shut? I think I'm just gonna file the stock housing down to fit into the new clear indicators, then put the orange globe in that... Otherwise its too much fiddling with wires and shit :)

Nah can't make it this sunday man, gotta work to pay off my new purchase, me and my mate when halvies in an S13 ;)

Glad to hear no damage was done. Never trust the stock temp gauge.. Highly recommend a water temp gauge. Saved my arse when I popped a hose watching the temp fly up and the stock dash gauge barely even moving...

    Clear Indicator Install Finshed

Realized I forgot to post up pics of the finished product

I ended up filing the clear indicator housing so it fit the stock bulb holder, then just changed the bulbs from clear to orange, and done :)

    Plenum Pull

So yesterday I finally got around to doing a Plenum Pull with Bryan. It's been on my list of things to do for a while now, just never seemed to have to time/money :p

Bryan, Cal and I spent most of the day doing the pull, various deletes, re-assembly, oil/filter change, taking time to also fix my door lock (I now have working central locking :D) and a few other little bits and pieces :)

    Door lock being fixed
    [IMG]

It was just a matter of bending a metal rod in a better position so that when the door lock moved, it didn't foul anything it wasn't supposed to :)

Didn't take all that many photos as I only had my phone camera

    Before the plenum came off

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the state the hoses that were deleted, but they were SHOCKING! A lot of build up and corrosion almost left the pipes completely blocked! Very happy to know that I don't have to worry about that ever again :)

    Now some bad news...
While the plenum was off we decided to inspect the timing belt. Supposedly the 100K service was done at 60K, even had a genuine Nissan sticker on the timing cover... When we took it off Bryan told me that it defiantly needed changing, meaning that the 100K service wasn't done like I originally thought :(

So now I've gotta save some more money, get my 100K service, upgrade my brakes and suspension and then hopefully get it ready for a Manual TT conversion =D

    Till next time :zlove:

How many K's has it done... I find it odd that a 97 model would have bad hoses.

I helped a member last weekend do a plenum pull on a genuine 90 model with 92K km and all the hoses where in brand new:eek:

Where they genuine nissan hoses under there?

Just over 100k... The hoses themselves were fine, just inside them was all blocked.

    New Pads

So it's been ages since any real updates, been busy/broke with other things...

Last Friday I ordered a set of DBA 4000 Series Slotted TT Rotors, along with some Remsa Pads for the front and some QFM HPX Pads for the rear :)

Today I received my pads in the mail, extremely happy with the speed of delivery of the pads, and Greg from GSL Rally Sport who I ordered the gear off told me that the rotors would be delivered later.

Going to install these Friday, as well as my Slotted Rotors and a 100K service kit.

Will be updating within a week :zlove:

Not sure when I'll be installing, probably give it a crack tomorrow :)

Any tips on installation? I also have new pads that will be going on, so hopefully it will be like driving a whole new car!

    Cheers :zlove:

Supercheap sell these handy little sachets of lubricant for the caliper shims. Spreading all of this around when changing pads can have a large effect on whether your new brakes squeal or not. so does bedding in. Try braking with your big toe only for the first 100km or so.

    The job is easy, easy.

    Brake Installation Day One

Today started tackling the job of changing over my brake rotors and pads :)

After a bit of an ordeal trying to get the first caliper off, we succeeded!

The Nissan logo is yet to be finished in silver.

Next the new Slotted rotors went on. Hopefully I've put them on the right way

Looking good. You should give the rotor shields a clean up while you've got access.

Nice Z you have there , and seeing the care your giving it.

You should paint the rotors as well as they will eventually turn rusty orange.
Not the area where the pads go of course. :p

    Brake Install Day Two

Got a bit more done last night, although not as much as I hoped :(

Finished off the calipers, came up a treat :)

I also had a rattle from the back of my car when I stopped the car. Always thought it was my muffler, however when the wheel was off I had a look and one of my heat shields around my fuel lines was hanging loose, so i made up a quick bracket to hold it in place.

Hopefully the rotors are on the right way :p

I'll hopefully get the fronts done/started tomorrow. I have to change my brake master cylinder over, so time really isn't an issue for me...

    Cheers :zlove:

Been a bit slack with my updates recently :(
Finished installing the front pads/rotors, plus the callipers look great!

Took my master cylinder to ABS in Niddrie for a complete rebuild as it had a leak.

Nissan wanted $500 for a new master, or $220 for a new piston. ABS are charging me $215 for the rebuild total.

Hopefully I get everything back up and running by wednesday, miss driving her :(
