    Hey guys,

I know its been awhile and my posts have become less and less frequent but im still actively trolling the forum with the plan to get another zed next year :zlove:

I sold the Zed on the 8th of april, so nearly 2 months ago. Mr G spotted it up in brisbane outside the new owners house and posted pics up in the QLD spotted thread.

    So heres the story.....

I sold the zed to the new owner (Cody) who drove it back to brisbane that day. I spent probably a good 30 minutes explaining to him all the instrument pods and cluster dials as he was very new to zeds. I also had told him prior to and on the day that the back right had some camber balding due to lowering and that the tire would need to be replaced asap for safety and also for the RWC. I told him that he can call me anytime about anything and i would do my best to help with advice or parts (i gave him many stock parts like springs, airbox and a few others)

Well, he takes the zed and rings me up not even 30 minutes later and says "hey man, the tire just blew up on me". What do i say to that? ... I said "ok". his response "ok just letting you know". Im still unsure of why he rang me, possibly as he thought it was the balding tire that caused it(it was only just illegal and wouldn't cause a blowout).

So later that night he rings me again and asks how to turn the headlights on. Im baffled and say "twist the right knob like i showed you this morning". He says "yea i did that but only the circles turn on not the big square ones"...I should have realized before this that he was a complete retard. So i tell him that they are highbeams and he asked how to turn those on...i sigh and tell him then hangup shorty after.

I think it was the next day or possibly a few days after that i received the next call from him. He says "Hey Matt, does the zed have an oil leak"..i quickly reply.."no..". He then goes on to explain that the gauge with the oil can on it was moving around as it started to die and then the car stopped and it wont even start. Ill cut this story short as it went on for awhile but i eventually ask about fuel. He says "oh...its on empty"....what a bloody idiot...seriously.

So all the while that this is going on iv also been talking to him about returning a garage remote i left in the car, i offered to pay for postage but he never got around to it. I rang him multiple times per week and he just ignored every call.

So a member on here PM'd me and said he lives just down the road from this guy. Im happy to announce that RoryZ is an awesome bloke :D. He offered to go around to this guys house and ask about the remote and also the unpaid tolls he racked up in my name (which i now have to sign an affidavit for). Well Cody(resident asshat) said he couldnt give the remote to Rory as he had mailed it to me and he will call about the tolls. Well i have not received the remote and i dont think i ever will, this kid is a real drop kick and its an utter shame that someone like him have a nice zed.

He also said he would join up to the forums and take care of it. Neither of those have happened and if he does i hope he reads this. Hes just another hoon kid with no respect.

Last id heard the car has some damage on it, front bar is coming off and has had its vinyl shredded. Skirts are caked in scratches and marks from probably skidding over gutters.

Sad, Angry, Annoyed, Pissed off, Want a new zed. The end.

not fair mate, your zed was a great car, i looked up to it, shame to see it being treated like a commonwhore...

Should have kept it. Just sayin'

Realistically though, remember that it's his car now. Calling him names won't make him love the car as much as you do, and nor will it help you get your remote back. I'd be thankful that he doesn't come by your joint and flog your motorbike

I think we are just going to have to start getting used to it. Back in the days when you had to write a sizable cheque to get your hands on a Zed only the really dedicated Zed lovers had the cars.

With the passing of time and the falling in value, any dropkick can get into one these days. I guess we can take some comfort that they won't have them very long.

Very true mate, i almost wish they commanded a higher price these days :(

I cant wait for the day that they become somewhat rare and only quality examples are being driven around. Damn japs for making such a strong car lol!

Its a tough story to hear. I hate overhearing stories about how "new owners" treat someone elses pride and joy.

I had to laugh though about recieving the phone call minutes after hand over. I got a phone call regarding how to remove the key from my zed when i sold it, along with other things. Delivered it to the bloke too due to him having no licence, was a good final last goodbye drive... i hate to know whats happened to it now though. However he seemed to be a good bloke.

You would know the one matt, you inquired about it. heh.

Time to let go though Matt. Onwards and upwards...

Can definitely understand how angry this must make you, especially after all the effort you put into the car... Just take solace in the fact that someone who cant figure out how to turn on headlights surely is not long for this world:br:

That is sad to hear  i have read your whole build thread and it is always going to be one of my favourites  i myself plan on doing something similar but different...if that makes sense...all i would say is when you get your next zed just do what you did all over again but bigger and better  i can imagine how you feel...if it was me and my zed i would go to the guy and get the zed back 

When I removed mine I was expecting much more work by what I had seen in your thread. A crow bar got it off in 3mins. :p

Shame about your NA tho, I know how it feels. :(

Guy we sold ours to blew the engine 6 hours later. Got several different stories on what happened and circumstances surrounding it etc. Short story is he took the boys out in it to show off his new car and it started making a noise while "just driving along". Turn's out it broke a conrod. The following week I charged him to fit a new engine he supplied and sent him on his way.

Shame..the stealth Z looked good. But look to the future, you'll get a better car thanks to the old one being sold.

The hectik guy who bought my old NA put it through a wall a few weeks after, while drunk, left the crash scene, and made it into the papers.

I knew i should have tried harder to persuade my Parents to let me buy the stealth zed! And to think i never saw the car in the...... Vinyl.

I hope i don't see it driving around in the condition it may be in now....

I never saw it in the vinyl either, but I did see it before that and it was in top shape I was impressed at the time. Would have been a great Z to buy. :)

I've seen him a few times at Mt Ommaney.... it's looking a bit rough. :( Dropped round to his place a few weeks ago to see if he was home, and had a chat with him for the first time. He loves the car, but admits he doesn't know much about them at all. Didn't know slicktops existed until I told him...

Had some damage to the front bar apparently from his brother hitting a kerb. They have also relocated the seatbelts BY THEMSELVES from the door to the pillar. Hope they're secure.....

Told him to get on the forum, he'll need it to keep the car going. The tech section was just as important as petrol for keeping my car going in the first few years, invaluable knowledge from so many members and I let him know that's why mine is still going after 6 years of ownership.
