bling kit for fender and timing cover just arrived.....thanks rob,now to get some time with the girlfriend :zlove:
A couple of days ago I replaced the passenger footwell trim piece with the JDM version so I got the flare holder, which I then put a brand new 130 lumen LED torch into. Yesterday I retrimmed my drivers side door and the under steering wheel panel back to original velour, and then retrimmed the console lid with leather. Today I got the exhaust connected to the car properly (with hangers, not fencing wire). Tuesday I'm getting the Air con fixed.
Cleaned up heads ready for machining. Modified milling head at work ready to machine said heads. Talked with an associate that has plenty of engine building experience, reckons the failure was a gradual deteriation of the gasket just compounded by my overheating incident.
Filled sanded and painted drivers side screen trim, satin black, very happy with the result. Anyone have a passengers side trim for sale? Seems to be a part that deteriorates quickly, every car I have seen or asked about, these are all broken.
Something wrong with your image link. If you are referring to the passenger side window cowl, I think the fumes coming off the battery might have something to do with that. The Zed is supposed to have a battery box covering the battery, but nobody still has that, right.
I have one in my Z, only fits the recommended factory sized battery which are much smaller then the batteries listed on century and many other battery companies charts. I believe its designed to insulate the battery during cold weather seasons.
Exactly the plastic covers are to regulate the temerpature of the battery, although aesthetics aside they'd only be marginally effective at best. They do nothing for gasses which escape from the top of the battery. They fit fine if you put the right battery in; same battery as Camry, Maxima and many others.
Machining my heads after epic head gasket fail. Before during and after photos. Finally can start the long process of putting it all back together.
Bought a new headunit, aux and usb are from the back, drilled a hole in my armrest compartment at the back, put in a rubber grommet and fed some cables along the inside of the trim. Also have mounted a mic behind the centre vents to be all stealthy, there's a small enclosure I made that goes around the mic so ac won't wreck conversations. Downside is interference with the ac flow from one vent but I'm happy.
Put my front bar back on and replaced the oil pressure sender. For the first time in nearly 6 years, my oil pressure gauge now works.
Nice Job... That came up really well... good job! I ripped my console out and PlastiDipped it in Cherry Black. Will post up some pics when it's back in the car!! :zlove:
I replaced my Coolant Temp Sensor, because since I've owned the car, the gauge hasn't worked. Never really worried, because I have an aftermarket gauge. Also, drove out to Black Beast's place and picked up a stock bonnet. So, I replaced my CF bonnet with stock, and put my vented nose panel back to stock, too. Ignore the ****ed front bar, I have a new one to go on.. Just have to get it painted
fixed my glovebox latching issue on saturday. used a new lhd latch which had a few bits swapped over from my old one to work. importantly, all the old brittle plastic pieces did not need to be reused so its essentially a brand new latch now.
I noticed a bit of brown stain under the passenger mirror, so I took it off to investigate. I found some paint bubbles. Dremelled it back to flat or bare metal and put rust arrestor on it.Then dabbed some white paint on it. It looks rough but will be covered by the mirror when I put it back on. Worth checking guys, but be careful of dropping that third mirror mount bolt down into the door. (there I warned you)
