Just letting you guys know the Geelong Ring road is Roadwork city for next 5 weeks because the road surface is lifting. It's 60k speedlimit and lanes blocked off ....!!!!

 

in that case, i'm gonna go with option 3 as well.

 

just tell me where to meet everyone lol.

im working which sucks, but for the most part i'll be there

 

Would it be better to skirt the Geelong Ring Rd roadworks on a duco preservation basis as well such as sticky tar, loose stones, etc you commonly get with roadworks? Nothing will dampen the fun of the day more than a hoard of stone chips and tar up the side of the guards

another vote for option 3 here, the geelong ring road roadworks are only at the waurn ponds ends (currently) & are more on the side heading back to melbourne so we should be fine to use it if we're getting off early.

Kingy I'm going to have to do a runner early to get back to geelong for a family commitment so while I'll hopefully get all the way to the lunch stop I wont be able to hang about so wont be doing the walk. Can you give me a rough idea what time we should be getting to the otway fly?

depends on the route chosen..... if its option 3 then it will be an earlyish lunch 11:30 ~ 12:00 leaving us plenty of time to take the treetop walk, and even more time to do the GOR itself

The other options see us having a later lunch break, posiably as late as 2:00pm.

todd road shell servo. just follow the freeway to the westgate and you won't miss it. just before westgate bridge.

we agreed on a time yet? 9AM as per usual? i'll be arranging the usual SE meetup for locals @ 8AM if so.

 

Oh..so we've got the option of the walk too?
I'd be up for that ...and you can add Craig to that list, I thought the walk was over an hour? Or am I getting confused? We may be going in separate cars, if so there will be 4 of us instead of just Craig and I..will get back to you asap

p.s. ...Todd Road Servo is still easy to find and even has it's own sign on the Freeway!!

 

Geelong ring road is fine.I drove along where they have just laid the new surface and no gravel rash.Looks like they are vacuuming up the loose gravel as it's laid.At the moment tues they are now doing torquay bound near ceres turn off.Sunday they where doing melbourne bound.But as said not a single stone loose.Waurn Ponds bunnings would be a easy meeting spot for geelong guys ?.
