Lenny is such a little girl who is scared to post up a thread...... sorry for bad english anywho heres the problem. their is a sqeeking noise comin from front wheels some where, whilst driving (this noise dont happen when standing still or on a hoist) and no difference when turning. sounds like pads are sqeeking like when their worn down to bear metal. but this is not the case, hmm just replaced front rotars and pads to RDA N/A SLOTTED ROATERS. people in other topics like this, i have searched have said that its dust, but this cant be the problem, as their like 1day old, and lenny says that this problem(sqeeking) noise still their, which its pissin him off, i said just turn the tunes up and u wont here it, but this will not solve the problem... someone else surgested that the wheel barings may need greasing or replacing, anyone have any ideas on what this noise would be. (it sounds like something metal is rubbing against another metal part somewhere) Regards Shaun
before and after, well i never had this problem untill lenny brought the car off me ever since its been having all kinds of problems
yes everything is their which is standard, iv read all the other stuff on this topic, but i cant seem to find anything which is relevant to the noise, see the shims wouldnt do much as they shouldnt move as the piston gose in and out, it dont turn when brakes applied so....
just to clarify... its definitely brake-related lol. Squeaky when braking (but only when certain pressure is applied to the brakes). And yes, got shims. I was thinking from reading other threads that they could be the cause.
Some brands of pads require the shims be removed. You can alo get brake grease that you put on the back of the pads to stop it.
I've posted more threads than you Shaun, lol I was reading other threads - what is the point in posting one when possible solutions are already listed. And lastly, we all know what happens when you consistently turn music up... you of all people should know... tisk tisk.
they're the rda ones... gots them off Caz. would you recommend removing shims first and seeing if that solves the problem? I'm sure your advice must be good Mr $3500+/week
man i dont find a need to be a post/thread whore, and i dont have the time to sit on here as i work alot more hours a week than most ppl on this forum.... iv been a member for alot longer than u so dont give me greef about who's got more posts, i only post when i require info. or to help others with some info from my knowledge. thats about it. music is good. the zed dosent have a constant 102db in noise so u dont have to worry about getting deaf, stick to the relevant subject about the brakes otherwise it will be full of this kinda shit talk.
... now we have lovers tiffs on the forum ...eekkkk ...!!!! ... kiss, make up ... and change your pads, lads ....
I would be looking for front hub bearing failure. You can check for play by raising up the front end and grabing the rim at 12 and 6 and rock back and forth, repeat 3 to 6. Do this on both rims, the best way to make sure it is or isn't the bearings is by removing the rims and the brake pads then fit 2 wheel nuts to keep the rotor fixed, then check for play and "feel" for roughness as you rotate the hub.
okay we'll try that (ports), baz read the post properly "brand new" RDA N/A SLOTED ROATERS AND PADS, oh and ill rape lenny when he comes over, he owes me money. lol im also gona try greasing up the sims at rear of pads, man hope this helps, more surgestions would be helpful thanks guys
how do u fix that rollin? open it and put greese in it or buy new ones?. would it be a good idea to change all 4 wheel barings(i think it would be better so later u dont have to change it if you have a the same problem)? or just the one thats playing up
yeah u need to replace the 2 front wheel bearings. dont do teh rears unless u have money you need to spend
how much am i looking to spend per wheel baring? and how much for rear?, sorry to use u for info. i know u own a shop and this is anoying everyone askin u prices. also how much do u charge an hr and how many hrs would it take someone like u to change it.?
parts wise, fronts are available aftermarket prices ranging between 120 and 150 dollars depending where you go. thats per side. rear, i have only been able to get genuine and they are around 300 dollars per side
