are you sure that they're brand new? the bosch replacement is what most people use and it's around $300 there were some fakey's going round for around the $100-$200 mark on SAU/ebay etc, no branding on them and the voltage output is wrong. a few people were having issues with them.
I have twin intakes with one MAF. I have a HiTec tuned ECU and the lowspeed driveability mod. Works fine for me.
how do you recondition a AFM? it either works or doesn't work, it's not like it has moving parts you can replace. maybe some MAF cleaner was sprayed into it and now they're reconditioned...
Options: Dual MAF, SAFC, average or add function, some wiring dummy MAF, double the k value on ecu bin Selin dual maf transistor - effectively plug n play http://www.selindesign.net/electronics.html
ouch, expensive upgrade almost worth just getting ecu socketted or aftermarket ecu but great find ZDUCTIV
At last someone made one. Using a SAFC for this was a lousey way of adding MAF signals. Why the Japs think you need a shiney box for everything is beyond me.
why you copy my style!!!!! we both have the same set up ... I'm making 360rwkw , plus it will go about 400rwkw the way it is, this is a pic of my setup ..i dont think there is a restriction i think your on the correct path , one working afm ( on the right )and one dummy ( on the left ) running hitec ecu ( thanks bob ) ,, plus i think this hole set up will not be as expensive ( these days ) as you think .. it will work out good for you .... good luck .... ( THE ONLY THINK I CANT SAND IT , DOING A BOOST LEAK CHEAK ) YOU GOT TO TAKE THE DUALS OFF , IN ORDER TO DO ONE ,, , ) but once again i have modded my equipment, so now its way good ..
looks good man, yeah im considering running the twin afm adapter, as i dont like the idea of having half the air coming into the engine unmeasured. but we'll see what happens, cheers for all the info guys
ahhahaah yeah its been like that for years,,, it all good , thanks man i made them myself,,, they work well ,,, i think ,,,lol
Nice set-up alex.. hopeyfully you get 400rwkw so you can start pumping more GTR's and Supra's ! Your location should be.. MELBOURNE the DEFECT city
HA . . my reo is gonna look like that, im installing a C2 kit at the moment On the AFM note, the larger pods build for a 97'ish rex go strait on the MAF without any adaptor. Just like a good knock shop They have holes in the exact right spots . . . Peace
The low speed driveability mod is only need when you have 1 MAF but twin intake. Having the 2nd MAF makes sure both sides are being measured properly, thus removing the need for the pipe.
Youre right there, Ive only got the SAFC so I can do averaging on the Twin MAFS. I might just look at an averaging circuit. Then again I do like flashy blue lights
Can you help me out with a link to this mod, i have searched for it a few times and cant find details. Thanks in advance.
here ya go http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/DUAL%20POP%20INSTRUCTIONS.PDF I think theres a few ways to do it and this is an american example so not ideal but you will get a basic understanding of whats going on
Hey John , I have a second afm with the plug sharing all but one wire from the original afm plug , then i have a new wire connecting the second afm to the second afm's wire provision in the safc (gtr) Plus two 90 deg silicon elbows and your done , I have no low speed drivability hoses , and have done no low speed tuning/ correction ,
