Well my sweet arsed time is at a premium these days... This is a hobby project for me, I'm doing *everything* myself (sofar ) And if I want to take a freakin picture of a bolt then I will I just though people would like to know how to get out a snapped head bolt... I'll post photo's of the pistons and rods when they arrive and the cams when they come back. Plus I always said xmas...so I'm on schedule in my books.
All the best with the project Andy, hope it all works. Did you take any rough measurements of the engine ? will it fit ?
It's great to see everything is back on track, Andy.:biggrin: BTW, I didn't notice an answer to a vital earlier question, when will the "personal test drives" take place(and more to the point, who is second on the list, after me?).:zlove::zlove::zlove:
how about now? it's been 45 seconds since i posted last! come on!!!! OH MY GOD, WHAT IS THAT HEADING OUR WAY??!?!?!?! it's ...it's.... CHRISTMAS!!!!! AAARRRGHHHHH.. (i'm just making sure you remember who i am, this way you'll know who to call when you need tyres, and i imagine you'll need a few sets with a v12.) oh question, what's the weight difference between a ?VG30DETT and this v12 your whackin in? just want to know if it will upset the balance. cheers, large hearing devices
How can I forget you?? :bash: Weight difference is minimal...M70 with upper plenum and exhaust manifolds is about 10kg heavier than the VG30DETT (including turbo's) Price on a set of 325/30/18's
It will be ideal to run around Morgan park in Just make sure the 'BMW' ID is removed, make it an honourary Nissan
yeah ok if we're gonna get down to technicalities... lol sorry bout that. My head wasn't on me when i typed that but still, i'd like to have that table in my living room
great stuff.........its something i wouldnt think is possible......not too great with all this engine stuff but as people say the engine is cramped with a v6 twin turbo in the zed....well having double the size engine and the number of turbos how is it possible to fit..... also from those figures of the stock v12, something like 200kw.....is that at the engine or at the wheels, and wouldnt you expect alot more as its from a v12....or did bmw just make it so that the engine is not anywhere near its limit and that they wanted more of a cruiser like a soarer than a sports machine....as we all know soarer has a 4 litre V8 but doesnt pump out much....
I can't believe how clean the galleries are in the block, looks real sweet Andy. Just a question, what is the length of the block?
the low compression engine may be reason for the low power numbers but its for a 7 series bmw; meant to be a quiet fast cruiser. If BMW can pull out 660hp from a 6.1 v12 then im sure more than 300hp can be pulled out of this 5l v12. besides low compression is just begging for forced induction.
so what's the number plate gunna be TTX2? oh i know RIXRYD. or ONLYTT or TORN 80 or IMAV12 i can get ya some 335/30R18 Pirelli Pzero Aysemmitrico if you likey.....just under a grand a corner. far kimmie! i ain't fitting em though!
keep it simple: [TWELVE] [12] or being a BMW V12, german and all how about: [ZWÖLF] = [TWELVE] thats kool!
Of course they will!!! What could possibly give someone pause to register it??! Under the regs I can put a 5.0L NA in there...after they approve it I'll add a few extra bits under the hood.
