Found this 6 speed HKS Z32 Sequential Gearbox (bolts into a Z32) Would make a nice addition but pricey even in the US Thought I would share it since it is highly valued by some ............:zlove: JC
Didn't even know they existed....... Not sure if it was sale post (was on FB)....Just recall some guys were saying they are US 7K+ and up being rare. Don't know anything about them (Looks like a H pattern to me too - but I'm not 100% sure) Just thought the picture would interest a few here given they are rare
There's one for sale on yahoo japan at the moment, 450,000 yen & looks like it needs a refresh... & yes, H pattern
sure, clicky Description seems to say is a z32 box that had been used in a y31 cima (tailshaft to suit the y31)
Get that and I'll buy yours lol I've already ran your not needed upgraded parts why not continue the trend
buyer beware First picture on the yahoo auction posting is about condition N = New S = Like New A-C =Useable, C signs of wear D = Crap Shoot E = Junk, Farked. This Item is an E, Best case scenario they are being alarmist and are wrong (Japanese are usually very hard markers when describing condition) or its rooted as they say it is, suit rebuild. Good luck with that these aren't exactly common, so the parts to rebuilt would have to be tough to come by, but i'm not in the business could well be wrong. A lot of money for such a large gamble. Might want to get Streeter to check with HKS if they sell a kit to refurbish these boxes
HKS no longer sell rebuild kits ....all discontinued . And pretty sure holinger can rebuild these . . .
had to google holinger Going to be a 10K (less / more? ) gearbox if it someone does it.... man what the advantage over oem may I ask?
yes will be easily over $10000 Cheapest PPG setup will cost you around $8000+ 6speed sequential around $18000 then fitment. Z32 5 speed ... 3.21 1.93 1.30 1.00 0.75 Z33 6 speed ... 3.79 2.32 1.62 1.27 1.00 0.79 HKS 6 speed 2.97 2.09 1.55 1.25 1.00 0.81 Os88 6 sequ ... 2.61 1.93 1.52 1.21 1.00 0.85 With 3.69 diff gears it will have the acceleration of 4.10 (close ratio box) with the topend of 3.69 (300km+) with a usable 1st gear . .
Lotta spondula to get 6 gears. What about adapting a Tremec TR6060? Theres a version with remote single-linkage shifter. The Holden and XR-6T Ford boys are punching big and up to stupid numbers through them and not breaking them with any regularity. Both 5th and 6th are overdriven and quite close in ratios with a reasonably tall low gear would make a decent and very affordable 6 speed package. Nice short shifter and hey, synchro on reverse!!!! Woo! E
Hey E Nice idea in theory - wonder how hard the practical side would actually be in the end I like the idea for a 6sp option but an adapter kit would really be the difference for many JC
Hey E 2 overdrives are not good for racing/ acceleration Ideally you would get a box with 6th gear 1:1 with something like 3.5's diff (or taller) I believe V8 super cars are set up this way ...better acceleration to redline in top gear/top speed HKS have put together awesome ratios for the z32 ,hence why I'm interested . .
