And So it has begun! The process of the respray started today! Day 1 Strip Car and sand the old paint down ready for undercoat. Tomorrows agenda: Buy paint and a few other bits n pieces and hopefully have the undercoat sorted by tomorrow night! Stay tuned!
Came up short today. Went to get the paint, wont be mixeed and all ready to go until tomorrow which is a pain, seeing as we are spending close to 2k at the place they could get on it asap. So more prep today then tomorrow the spraying begins
How we left it yesterday: Got the paint this morning, rude shock to find i hadn't been quoted with gst included.. Spent a good part of the day masking the car up! Undercoating has begun!
Awesome work Robbo, definitely watching this with interest! Doing all the spraying at home? Be sure to test fit your twinz before paint though, need a fair bit of trimming if you want to keep your tow hooks. Also test fit with your exhaust as some don't fit well at all (like mine) & all need to be lowered to clear the diffuser.
Nah only undercoat and edges at home, Test fitted months ago aha, yeah exhaust needs new hangers. Dissapointed in twinz though bar had pin holes that showed up during undercoating -_-
Agreed, quality is not up to to what you hear (or pay). I ended up making little brackets to lower the hanger mounting points, I needed an extra 35mm for the abflug exhaust to clear.
Its done, What a busy week, Colour and clear is down, just gotta put the rest back together. Heres some pics, enjoy!
Thanks Tim! Yeah it was a close call to having it finished was sanding until 3am this morning , got up at 6 to take the car to the booth aha.
So Whats been happing Nothing much really. Finally got round to buying a second car so some of the stuff ive been wanting to do but couldnt afford the time off the road can happen now. Slowly making head way on the 370z steering wheel. Still need to work out what wire is what however the music controls seems like the easy bit. Cruise on the other hand may be alot harder. R34 GTT brakes were installed on the front, just have to paint match the rear calipers now. And that's about all the news. Ill end this with some pics enjoy, Thanks Craig for the brilliant pics too!
Happy to oblige Robbo! You've done a brilliant yourself as she's a mint example of a Z32! :zlove: Cheers, Craig
