So I went in to the wreckers to pick up a $20 part for my ute & a couple of days later I left with this: It's OK I'm not a completely sick bastard, it is a manual & it does have the big Brembo brakes on it So after only one week she is ready to go back on the road again (almost) Had to replace: Both left lower arms front brake rotors and pads Front tyres Left front panel Left front guard liners Left front indicator lamp (still need to pick one up) Air bags Seat belts Windscreen Repaired the front bumper & the left front headlamp, gave the wheel a bit of a buff & it came up OK. And now she looks like this:
Nup, I replaced the lower arms & took it for a wheel alignment & she came in perfect, no signs of any damage anywhere in that area.
Shit no I'm going to super sell it LOL!!! (PS: can someone please correct the spelling in the tittle "thought" seems to have lost a couple of letters)
Looks very good. Why was it at the wreckers? Did an insurance assessor write that off ? Auto repair mechanics too busy over there? I would have thought that "replace front passenger side wheel" should have been on your list of work done. Hope it goes to a nice home Good of you to rescue her.
It was actually a repossession so I'm assuming it was damaged & no insurance for what ever reason then payments weren't kept up to date, car repossessed, finance company would have just decided far easier to deregister it & sell it as is so it would need to be re complied & therefore remove any liabilities on themselves for the condition of the car. Seems like a silly thing to do as the repair costs aren't that high & if it were left registered there would have been a much higher value paid for the car via auction. Who knows, might be company policy to de reg any repossessed vehicles? maybe the previous owner of the car de registered it for some stupid reason?
My 300c was a repo. Not damaged. Just repoed and hence deregistered. My mate who works for pickles said repos are ALWAYS deregistered. (The ones they deal with). Dealers win the game here as I am sure they have "special relationships" with some inspection centers. Harder for us mere mortals of course.
Either way, strictly speaking, it is not a Zed. This forum defines a Zed as specifically a Z32, that's why it was moved.
hmmm Then why is it not called ausz32.com or the Australian Z32 owners association? and damn you for pre-empting my Z31 question Dave :zlove: Honestly never realised that was the forums stance. I assume it would move with the times and evolve as the community evolves. As you were sir.
"strictly speaking, it is not a Zed. " Oh come on This is the exact same sort of attitude/call that created a serious rift in the Z community here in NZ that is unlikely to ever be sorted, making a call like that only hurts the community as a whole. Sure there are dedicated forums for those who choose an S30, S31, Z31, Z32, Z33, Z34 etc but let's not go down the path of throwing any threads that are not Z32 based in the Non Zed related area - that is just plain silly. In more important news the bastard love child of Nissan & Renault created to satisfy the new age Zed fans went off to get complied today, with any luck some time Tuesday I should get a ph call to confirm everything we discussed today was as we expected & she will be road legal again Immediately after that she will be up for sale  I may take her to the supermarket a couple of times but even though she is a Zed she is just stock to me at this point & = nothing more than $$$
