well ezzupturbo said to get injectors, i told jamie that i will pay for his tomorrow, should i tell him to not worry about it? i was planning to run as much as possible safely on my auto turbos, chris insists on telling me to upgrade intercoolers, get nistune and injectors, should i do it??????
yeah me too, he's done some amazing work, but everyone else says that it's a waste of money?? i'm sooo confused?
nah he's just giving me some advice, and says that if i plan on running 1 bar of boost i need these 3 things : FMIC,injectors, nistune
I would do this ..and run 14psi hitting around 220rwkw I ran similar setup for years but with EBC . While I agree with Eric about the T intake ,I wouldn't bother with selin at this level rwkw and budget .
with your current setup.. best thing to drop a grand on is a set of T28's. you can pick them up for that much. W
$610 can get you decent looking hoes or jump out of a plane...either way you can end up getting killed in the end lol For 1g...there isnt much that can be done, as your better off just savin up for a few upgrades & proper tune or just start sourcing parts whenever possible & then install at a later date Abraham
yeah i was thinking to upgrade intercoolers and get a proper Electronic Boost Controller with the rest of the money
why dont u just save some more coin and buy a new wiring harness, 100k service kit and a series 2ptu and have a reliable zed for the next good couple of yrs. ...then save some more coin and get an ebc, fmic and nistune.....then save some more coin and pull the engine, upgrade turbos, injectors, exhaust etc (the list is endless) In my opinion reliability comes first and power second. Dont rush, write down a list of wat you want to achieve with the zed and do it in order otherwise you can waste a grand too easyly. Also like Chris said deff do a compression test before you do any mods, no point modding a shot motor
i just got 540cc injectors, tuned ecu, am planning on getting a EBC and upgraded SMIC's, all this along with plenum pull, water bypass and fixing little issues at the tech day
dseletes, injectors, nistune is the logical step for me Deletes if there not done and do the injectors whilst there. If thats done - Nistune Chip is the next step before going onto further engine mods (you could probably do all on the same money anyhow!)
wtf... My car has very similar mods (more expensive in regards to the price of a haltech, but with stock turbos and injectors it can't do much better than the mods listed above) and with 13.5ish PSI I am getting 213rwkw and 517nm of torque. According to you, my power level is pretty much on the money. Everyone else has been telling me at 13.5 psi on stock injectors and turbos, I should have 230+ KW. I've seen searching for some reason as to why my zed is somehow down on power, but am I right in thinking that it's not down on power at all? It has a restrictive exhaust, too. 2.5" out of dumps into 1 cat (unknown whether it's high flow or not), 3" to the back.
Boost jets Light weight flywheel & decent clutch If there is money left over one piece drive shaft $1K is not a significant amount of money as far as engine mods go so it's almost a waste of time trying to do anything, with the boost jets you can bump up to around 12 PSI & shouldn't need a retune, find someone who has a wideband O2 kit and just take it for a blast up the .... ummmmm race track & check the AFRs are all safe. Using boost jest will leave the safety boost feature intact so IF there is any detonation detected the ECU can at least try & help (unlike boost Ts etc). You will get a minimal gain from boost jets so to try & get the effects of extra power without the big dollars go for the lighter flywheel, when you have a lower power car these make a significant difference to how the car feels on the road etc. Sure you loose a tiny bit of bottom end but with your smaller turbos coming on song nice and early you're going to be grinning all the way to the bank. You probably wont have the coin left for the driveshaft but if you can score an ally one for cheap this will work well at the expected power level you should have, not much chop after ~350Kws though as they become slightly dodgy for strength & reliability. (I used to make & sell these so I know from experience)
....been telling you this for months... That's exactly the same power figure my car made with 2.5" turbos back exhaust, pod filter, manual boost controller and running around 14psi. If I'm reading right you have a single from cars back? Grab one of those n power kits off eBay and some high flow cars from sureflow and get your exhaust shop to put it all together. You might pick up some missing powah
