    The filter problem!

Problem... A standard pod filter does not fit behind a FMIC. Even a small Apexi! Wish I knew this before I bought one.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Dylan and Arvin fixed it like so, but Dylan's piece was custom made and I'm not keen on a 90* bend in my intake. if you have a keen eye, on the last page I didn't even have a filter :(

so then arv rocked up at the tech day with one of these for sale... a border air box! twin k&n filters to boot. dead filthy, nabbed it for $60.

looks like that. fits awesome, looks like shit! even after a clean up with a lot of liquids.

sanded, primed and painted it. while I was at I red topped my k&n's, so they suck faster.

I rushed it so it's not perfect, but it's bolted under the nose panel so... still :(

while I was there I replaced the shitty weak oem AFM clamp with a wider worm clamp as the whole stainless box and pods is supported by it alone.

    bay's looking niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

Thanks gang, I like it :) To boot, since the group buy fell through MoulaZX is in need of an Apexi pod filter. And I'm in need of his TuneAgent dumps and N*Power front pipes! That'll work out nicely.

Just dropped into my local exhaust shop, they said they could probably do it for less than $200 as it'd be only an hour a side. Looks like I'll be able to get to this place purely on backstreets too. Woot!

Haven't done much recently. Saving for my next major mod.

    Got bored today:

    - Grinded off the black paint on the windscreen surrounds (the ones that have chrome underneath) in prep for a repaint
    - shaved the wind deflector screw holes with sikaflex and bog
    - Converted the number plate lights to LED

    woooooo...

Pumped some into the bolt holes as a sealant. I know some water runs under the targas and didn't want to risk it getting to the underside of the bog.

If you can't work out something that simple, you have no business being near a Zed lol.
