QUESTION: Is it possible to reconnect the AC compressor and PS pump on to the engine once the engine ha been dropped back in to the bay? Will access underneath be fine as long as the car sits on stands?

    Thoughts?!

    Hey Ron,

Engine's like 3/4 in already. Just ran out of energy yesterday. Will finish it off tonight! :)

as of 11:43 last night, we got the engine in, lots of fiddling with the engine mounts so they line up, one big push dropped them through and she now sits all by her self :D

ill try and get some pics up, but they are only iphone4 pics so not high res

Thanks man! Will wait for those "limited edition" photos. I think Adam took some shots as well. Scared the hell out of me when I heard ANOTHER snap whilst lifting the cross member up, checked what that was and thought I SNAPPED another bolt (FYI, I snapped a bolt that attaches the clutch on to the flywheel!). Realised that the cross member bolt just lifted and slid up. Whew! :p

Oh well, next up... reconnecting all those wires and hoses back in place.

See you Saturday bright and early!

Your method definitely worked, man! Will definitely recommend putting the engine back in with the cross member lowered. Leaving it attached is doable but definitely easier otherwise. Was probably meant to have it back in exactly 2months since we pulled it out. :)

And yes, that bastard gearbox bracket has done it again. Stripped its way out like a prostitute!!! :p Will need to replace that freaking bolt and weld another...

A very productive day for me today after successfully dropping the engine back in last Thursday with HIDDS and his mate, Adam! Was able to work on some of the wires in the engine bay and under the car. Cleaning and making the bay as neat as can be as I go. Such a very good learning experience working on my own! Thanks by the way to Matt for dropping by early this morning to check things out.

A quick question for the gurus:

On the photo below, the blue circle sits in the blue rectangle (alternator -- sorry, a bit blurred). There are two metal rings which I'm not sure which bolts on to the black rectangle (again, a part of the alternator at the rear). When I did my research, I found Attila's thread about same question but it's a bit confusing. It was mentioned there that the smaller ring (red circle) bolts on there but it doesn't fit. Only the bigger ring (green circle) does. Apparently, it was mentioned that this bigger ring is for the battery positive which makes it more confusing.

Which ring fits where? And where is that connection for the battery positive?

And for a long overdue update of where I'm at...

So difficult to take photos whilst having a greasy pair of hands so bear with me. Will definitely take more happy snaps when I get the chance...

Looking good Arvin, was glad to see that the engine's finally in it's place.

Wont be too much longer before you have her up & running hopefully & we can all go for a nice cruise

The big ring (green I think in that piccy) goes to the large stake with the plastic isolator underneath it. It goes to the battery. The smaller one is a earth and just goes under a bolt on the body of the alternator.

And it looks like you are missing some of the 'cooler pipework? Did you pull it off for some reason?

Thanks for the heads up, Chrispy. Same thing Matt told me. Fixed! Cheers to you, guys! Still on the final stages of putting things back into place. Still missing my chromey pipeworks. Next on the big list but not long to go...

Blingers are back. New radiator on. Will be putting a new AFM as well. My old one hasn't got any issues at all; just for peace of mind. Then I just need to hook up the tailshaft onto the gearbox + go over the car one more time to check if everything's where they should be... and it will all be sweet!
