Now are you sure about that tekky? I have seen arguments for and against Npower/tuneagent dumps...

BennyC is running them with good results... I too have had dealings with these vs stock...

My opinion is no power increase but boost seems to come on harder and earlier...

Still love to see the comparison with them as I would like to put the whole debate to bed... :)

Second on this, I felt a very noticeable increase in low end torque and spool was a tad quicker (about 200-300 RPM from memory) from the first pull out of the exhaust shop, top end stayed fairly similar. Dyno sheets also confirm this.

    3rd on this. :)

I also noticed they came on harder and quicker than stock in my particular experience with them.

...but in saying that, my new AMS ToyZ 3" expansion dumps come on even harder and quicker than the NPowers did. [TIS]

gt2871r shouldnt be a prob ..still has the gt28rs turbine wheel
(its basically a gt28rs with a bigger comp wheel)

EXP90 is a gt3071 ..flows more air exhaust side

I swapped from stock to them and there was definitely a power drop at 14 psi. You may as well NOT bother.

For the effort of changing them to not go for something a LOT better just isnt an option IMO. Rubbish vs much better is only an extra $150.

Yes, this is exactly what i was thinking and wanted to hear from someone like yourself too.

So, in my frame of mind, one of the biggest (practical) turbos you'd want to put on our VG30DETT's would be something around the GT2871RS (obviously with the internal wastegate), and the 3" AMS ToyZ split flange expansion dump pipes would be the best bang-for-buck and ideal for this application. All my readings have leaned towards this side of things, for this size turbo also.

Very true tek, but still nice to have a point of reference. Love to see the Npower dumps vs stock and the true figures :) I've got $25 to see the results too!

The back of my GT2560R have a divider on the housing. I take it that's normal? I know stock turbines don't have it.

Yeah not normal, that's why the split dumps come with dividers... Where'd you get the turbos from?

Are you sure it's not normal? After further investigation:

My dumps have a split divider (or use to?) and I have a divider on the housing. This was done back when I was a little child and didn't do the work on the Z myself. I'll take the dumps off soon and see what's been done. The divider on the dumps can be removed simply with two allen bolts can't they?

So does no one else have GT2560R with a divider on the compressor housing?

Manufacturers often make subtle changes to the design of their products over the years to improve and keep up with modern trends etc.
I would not be surprised if Garrett have added this to the design at some recent stage.

    mmmm GT2560Rs mmmm :D

The GT28R's I had had no cast in divider. I havent seen housings like that before.

Geoff, the only thing stock about my turbo's are the turbine housing, everything else has been changed to the specs of GT2560R turbines (including compressor housing). Interesting.
