Dont think you'll be getting any boost out of that motor, but i like the idea of the xr6 turbo motor into a Z, they do make bucket loads of torque

Lol! As if the VG is 388kg!

Assembled bottom end can be carried by one bloke, heads are what, 15kg each? Turbo's and manifolds another 10kg, inlet manifolds injectors throttles etc another 10kg, all the crap on the front of the motor is another 5kg.

then surely 2 blokes could carry a dressed vg right

Possibly, as long as one of those blokes ain't me :p

or me I got a spare almost complete engine in my garage (1 head off) I hate even thinking about moving that let alone actually moving it.

Nice conversion but I don't like the sound of those motors!

yeah, my reply to chrispy was sarcasim lol, he made it out like the vg is light as a feather cause he can carry the block alone by himself.

once everything is added these weigh around 380kg if memory serves me right, according to all sites ive seen 2jz weights 270kg although i cant confirm if its dressed

Not the block doofus, the assembled bottom end. Block, crank, rods, girdle, pistons. No way in hell does the complete engine weigh 380kg!

I've been looking for a old thread on Nico about it. Someone weighed a VH45, a VG30DETT and a LS1 and the weights were within 50kg.

    Edit:

    Found it.

VG30DE with no aircon or PS Pump is 527lb using corner weight scales. So that's 240kg.

VG30DETT is near enough to 270kg complete. Assembled bottom end is close to 110kg.

Why do you want to touch the ground via the engine bay? Plenty of other conversion that will make easy power without a big iron straight six hangine over the axle, VQ, VH, LS, SR, 4G, 3S, 20B, 13B. There are a million jap/us engines that make easy power. If cost is the issue, leave the VG in there.

I wish someone would do a 20B already

Do it, sell your girly V8 and throw one in there. I will even port it for you to wake it up.

Nothing else in existance sounds like a ported 20b, you can bolt on a stupid big turbo and make a zillion hp, all from an engine as big as a 20ltr drum. What more could you want?
