You can see in the 2nd pic on my post above it is a side-on shot of the nose of the car with the bumper off.
The ballasts are mounted under the actual chassis headlight housing. Connor (n300z) has bolted on his own aluminium brackets and mounted the ballasts on that. Neat work.

Looks to me that they are inaccessible with the bumper on. Would that cause problems if you need to change globes?

If you have the slim ballasts, you can do the following:

Low beam Ballasts will fit down the outer edge of the headlight (Between headlight and F/Guard
High beam Ballasts can fit down the inner edge of the headlight (Between the headlight and nose panel).

This allows a hidden installation, and the standard wiring loom on the HID is long enough to reach the Z Headlight connectors.

    That's how I've done mine

8000k are blue but not stupid like 10/12000k.

im sure you will notice the blue-ness more when facing it from a distance.

i've seen some 8000ks on the road and while facing it from a distance they are very blue but dont seem so from behind the lights (ie in car).

What bulbs are in the corner lights? They match the colour of the HID's well. Been looking for a set of matching 'parker' bulbs.

    cheers bro :D.
yeaa i mounted them. pretty much under my headlight close enough that you can feed the wires to connect the headlight connections :D. but i did have to custom make my own bracket, looked for some holes that werent being used and cut the ally to angle and size. Well me and my old man did all this.
it was a 35w 8000k (not a slimline ballast). and it fitted under pretty easyy

i didnt hook it up to battery. i used the headlight cables.. changed the positive and negative. and connected them to the ballast wiring.

and yes downside is that. the ballast are pretty hard to get it unless you take the bumper off. you might be able take the plastic covers off in front of the wheel and get to it from the side. globes can be easily accessed.
    hope this made sence lol..:D

ohh yeah i show that one, looks really good with all that leds, would be cool if it follows the car revs.

I get my Z back from the panel beaters tomorrow or thursday hopefully.
I will then be installing my low and high beams, taking ALOT of pictures and writing up a tech article as there is not one to help people who follow in our footsteps, i know its a pain to wait however if people hang around to the weekend i should be able to help out.

only thing that will be a bit tricky might be the high beam :p LOL

thats plug-n-play too. if you got the ballast mounted and the wires reach - youre good.

i recommended at least half pulling out the headlight to do this.
