For those who have this radiator what did you use to secure the top of the radiator? The stock mounts are way too small. Thanks.
Polished stainless steel Ones from Caz Racing ftw. http://www.cazracing.com.au/catalog/index.php?osCsid=98e5b3b6c7afa331ae817dc3bbaa1111
Even minus the rubber there is no way it will hook over the top. Im assuming you just have the end of your bracket sitting on top of the radiator? I guess if I cut some grooves in the old brackets it would make it pretty stable.
Sorry cant see from the link. I see there are 2 but both say they are for 53mm. There is the smithys place or the cpz Will these fit this radiator? Thanks.
Modify the existing brackets... by cutting away underneath enough to accomodate the radiator width and to also accomodate the rubber. It is very easy to do with a dremmel. Very precise and neat cuts using the thin grinding disk. Had the same problem when fitting my AL radiator and someone from here suggested doing that and it was excellent advice. Don't have to cut the rubbers, they will stretch and mould over the end-tanks and sit very nice and snug. Looks great and OEM in my opinion. Give it a go, use some logic and take your time with it, it works. Peter
not using any brackets at all on mine, the radiator hoses keep it held snuggly in place..... probly better to have brackets though lol
Thanks guys Ended up using the old angle grinder and dremel to cut some slots. Seems to fit pretty well. I was trying to avoid making it look too dodgy as I need to visit the pits soon, not sure if they would accept cable ties. Will post a couple of pics later for any future reference.
pics Need to loosen the bracket bolt to take the rad cap off which is a little annoying but overall I think it worked out good.
