The colour is Sonic Silver (KR4) which is the correct silver for the 98+ Z32. I painted my engine bay with it as I was going to paint my whole car in that colour and when you see it next to the earlier silver it's a dam site darker, but deeper with a gold pearl appearance.
Wrong If it costs $20K to get a 2K spec here and complied, then thats MUCH more economical than taking an "AVERAGE" .....note on that... not a rare CLEAN....but an AVERAGE 89 model and bring it up to scratch. Hell, there was a CLEAN 89 that went for $18K a couple of years back, coz it was genuin low K's and looked factory condition inside and out.
I think the $20k is just the cost of the car. then their is shipping/custom fees/compliancing etc etc im pretty sure your looking at $40k to have one landed and drivable in Australia legally. Biggest problem is the no dual airbags problem as only the USDM models came with dual airbags so you unless you want to add that to the compliance (more $$$) its not worth it from what people say.
exactly... just bringing in a car you buy over there for around 6-7k will end up costing you close to 20k once its landed, clears customs and ins complied then registered. as much as i'd love a 99 model z32, for 30-40k you can build quite a nice 90-93 model and maybe even have a nice bit of cash left over.
The 2000 model must be quite rare. Sales were declining badly even by the end of 1997, when, in December, only 40 of the whole 300zx range were sold. In the whole of 1996 only 1220 were sold. Apparently monthly production for 1999 occasionally dropped into single figures! At the same time the cost of the car rose to a maximum of 4.8 million Yen, which made it very expensive. Unfortunately I don't have any figures for the 2000 model, but if we look at the trend then there may only be a few hundred of these cars ever built, if that. The figures I quote are from "Datsun 280zx - Nissan 300zx" by Brian Long.
Take alot at the bottom photo in Pilot.P's post.... in the head lights, is that infill standard? it looks to project out from the diffused driving lamps and smooth back into the high beams.May be a feature with 2000spec? looks nice with good clear glass
Yes it's standard. The factory HID's had it. If you want a set it will be around $2k Erik's 'vert had a set. Dead sexy and the cutoff was perfect. I'd love a set but can't justify the $$.
