Every time i turn on the headlights/fog lights, there is a reasonably loud high-pitched "buzzing" sound coming from my boot. This sound can even be heard from the outside of the car. What's up?
do you have HID's? sometimes the HID Ballasts make a buzzing sound when warming up when you turn the lights on, then it goes away shortly after. If you are just running stock helogen bulbs then there may be another issue.....????
does it seem to have any affect on the lights themselves? edit: this might help... http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=271353&highlight=inverter
Nope, stock halogens That gave a bit of insight... and i never knew that the wording was supposed to glow I shall try that my good sir No to what lol?
The inverter for the Electro luminescent panel will be 2 wires in, and 2 wires out. Just unplug the 12VDC side and she'll be apples. Follow the wiring back from the centre panel, you'll see it come through the bodywork. Follow back to the inverter and there will likely be a plug on it somewhere
lol, i just re-read the original post and just realised he said buzzing coming from the boot. :sorry:
a replacement inverter looks pretty cheap to replace... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/12-volt-inve...ultDomain_0?hash=item5882f61ac5#ht_740wt_1165
Inverters seldom fail - common failure is the EL panel contacts which burn out. Refer Tech Section for repair T/A. "NO" was in reference to 'not effecting other lights'
