ok firstly, I fixed my loose boot latch by lowering the catch and making sure all screws were tight. This was over a week ago. Now, today while driving, the movement of the car on the road was also causing something to move and I could hear a loud CLICK CLICK from the boot area. This coincided with the flashes of the "door open" light. I've done a search and found out about moving the latch down to fix "door open" light issues, but I'm not sure I can move it down any further. it's already really snug. The CLICK CLICK CLICK was sounding like a switch or relay. Questions: 1) I will check to see if the latch can go even lower but was just wondering if there is an earth or something I can easily check in that area while I am there? 2) Anyone else had this and what was the cause/fix? 3) If oneof the door switches was actually the cause (or another earth) would this still cause the CLICK CLICK from the boot area, or does that sound indicate that is IS the door switch that's the problem? Cheers
Can you lift the hatch after it has clicked? If so, the bastard is unlatching itself! I have this problem and I've adjusted it so many times. It usually takes me 3 or 4 goes to get the prick to stay closed. It opened right up twice in one lap around QR! Until I work something out, I can't help ya mate.
na not opening up. Before, I could pull it up a good 2 inches after closing. I adjusted the position of the latch and made it tight (it was hell loose and just free floating) and that fixed the movement. Nice and snug now, but yeah, now it seems the car is on the verge of "open or shut" on the sensor. I used to ALWAYS see door open light And sometimes no light for no reason but never this CLICK CLICK that sounds like a relay along with the light going on and off in time with the click. Hopefully a poke around tonight will bring the solution.
Erm problem solved. Kids hadn't shut the damn door fully. Hence movement was sending the light into a spazz ggggrrrrrrrr
