1st Z1 now AMS? http://www.conceptzperformance.com/...&Car_Type=300&UID=20091011012217220.238.89.84 Claiming AMS radiators are just as bad and copies of ebay ones?
Thats a cheap shot... Didn't take notice of it when I bought my Koyo.. The AMS one looks like a quality one... Which I found when I purchase a new radiator for the vette recently.. Some of the ones on ebay.com where very average and some had poor welding... The AMS one is 57mm compared to the 53mm koyo http://amszstore.com/main/product_info.php?cPath=21_27&products_id=36
Definitely bad form. We have sold and still source the Koyo, Howe, and even Pwr rads along with offering our AMS units. We have personally installed all radiators on the market and are licensed technicians to boot. We give our feedback based on direct hands on installations and cannot comment on others difficulties especially if they are parts vendors solely and not a tuner/installation facility. You start wondering what the motives are at this point and credability is certainly brought up. There is no fitment issue at all with our AMS units and they feature not only a better price but improvements on the koyo design including a larger core. Regards Vuk@AMS
Someone also mentioned that Coz was recently selling the Mishimoto/e-bay variant that are alot smaller cores and stating that they are superiour fit to the current offerings on the market - strange indeed? What clients have to ask themselves is what can the motives be. We sell most of the name brand offerings besides our own AMS parts for our clients and leave the decision making to the clients. When asked we will give our inputs based on years of installation experience and need not resort to trivial tactics. Thanks for the heads up! Regards, Vuk@AMS
not correct. don't really need to say too much more after reading vuk's response. but i'll throw in my experience... i've had the AMS rad in my 520 RWHP TT convertible with zero issues. fits a bit tighter than the koyo, that's cause it's bigger than the koyo. for any shop that knows what they're doing, it's easy to get in there. and actually for the record, koyo came out with some changes to improve their 300ZX rad only after the AMS one debuted in the USA, cause the AMS was better (had improved on the koyo's shortcomings) and was cheaper to boot. they had no choice but to improve them. so, the AMS is not an ebay special and anybody who says that is simply trying to forge ahead their own agenda, nothing more. of course, i'd wanna trust coz after that fuel rail fiasco too, lol. consider the source...
Oh rofl. You didn't just say we shouldn't trust a company who copies parts did you? Lawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwlllllllllllllllllll. You're right though. We shouldn't. Don't trust CZP/AMS. IPP is probably the best choice right now.
In comes mitch, Puffs up his chest, stands around with crossed arms, to look tough... Just to add a bit more conflict and humour to this thread...
It's good to see that double standards are still alive and kicking on the other side of the planet. Isn't the above highlighted text a tad like "the pot calling the kettle, Black"? If that's not hypocrisy, it will certainly do me until the "Real Thing" comes along.
much ado about absolutely bloody nothing ... "quality and fitment superior to ..." ... pretty inocuous statemen used in many adverts ... and certainly seen many times on our humble Forum ....
ive said it once and ill say it again.... Coz is a tool who i am really surprised is still in business with the ethics and legal standpoint him and his company takes...
He is actually quiet bright the way he goes about business, i dont agree with it, but then again I dont own a successful business at this point in time. The problem is a thing that I like to call "Vendor Worship" hes not a mate a friend or someone to say ohhhhhhhhh what great guy, hes a guy making a profit out of our needs, not unlike a dealer and junkie relationship, the difference is a junkie knows that, some here dont seem to. :rolleyes2: That doesn't mean you cant have a friendly business relationship with him, what allows him to make some of the moves he has made is "Vendor Worship" because he knows he has enough support in the market to get away with his shit, and people still praise him, believe me he is laughing at you. Its important to let suppliers know and never forget they are expendable, other wise they will screw you, guaranteed. This might sound a little impersonal, its just how it is, keep em on their toes i say. And if you do have what you consider a personal relationship with a supplier, keep it just that, personal. No need to be their constant fan boy, its just looks pathetic.
Cannot comment on ASI or Mishimoto and other E-Bay radiators other than that they were released after our AMS rad was already established in the marketplace. Last I checked Koyo was made in Indonesia? No need to detract from the initial thread which deals with marketing tactics. Our rads are proven and built to our specs by a major manufacturer to other name brand rads in the USA etc that do not include the E-Bay variants you are seem familiar with. Regards Vuk@AMS
Overall I agree with that statement, but be realistic, how is Coz expendable? If we're talking OEM parts who are you going to go to? Nissan? Caz is great, but Coz is in many cases cheaper especially with the strong Aussie dollar. -Kirill
Manufacturing products with advancements to current offerings does not constitute 'copy'. Exact duplications being sold as something they are not falls under a category that frankly I won't even get into as the thread is getting sidetracked. Bottom line is that every product on the market will have an alternative at one point or other. This includes injectors that look the same and wear different badges, air filters, exhausts, rotors and the list can go on. Any aftermarket (non Nissan) part that looks similar to the original but is offered by the aftermarket can be loosely interpreted as a copy by some. What customers will often compare is price, features, warranty, vendor standing in the marketplace (eBay shops come and go), community support etc. As mentioned earlier the initial thread was asking about terminology used by a vendor. Regards Vuk@AMS
Z1 or Courtesy Nissan can do the Nissan OEM often at a better price. Nearly everything CZP sells is available else where, obviously CZP versions aren't but I hear 300 degree do some good fuel rails. What makes you think only CZP can supply, has he a warehouse of parts that no one else can access ? If you have a long list, ask Z1 for a price including freight, I bet you that if you give them CZP's pricing they will do there best to beat it.
