A long wait but we've finally received our first samples of our PZP cast iron exhaust manifolds! They look pretty snazzy and we're really keen to get them flow tested back to back with the stock manifolds.

Does anyone know where would be the best place to send them to get flow tested?

The manifolds are our very first prototype and they look pretty good. Obviously there can be some improvement over the next few batches but it's a good starting point.

Oh and before anyone asks, they are NOT a copy of the Mike Smith manifolds. We've had the stock ones copied then bored/honed out. We don't expect them to compete with MSPs but we hope they'll be a good upgrade over the stockies. The price also reflects this too, we are going to retail these at $440 inclusive of GST.

Here are a few pics for good measure.

Any larger place that does cylinder head porting should have a flow bench

You should flow test them against some AMS and Mike Smith Mani's at the same time. If you win I bet people will start purchasing from you... Just something to think about.

Burn the witch! What about all the time and money that MS and AMS put into developing their manifolds and you just go and make some quick without stuffing around! What are you thinking!

    Lol! Good stuff Tom ;)

No way they will outflow those bigger manifolds, but measuring the difference in cfm when tested on heads would be interesting. There are figures floating around on tt.net comparing mike smith manifolds on and off heads so easy to compare once tom gets some numbers. Also of interest would be comparing difference in flow per runner... Ams for example are very uneven compared to mike smith.

have flow test results for there stock honed manifolds, it's a good improvement over stock, it'll be interesting to see your test results compared to the uas test. Great effort to get these up and going, very well done!

100% agreed. It would be nice to see the difference though. From an unbiased source that does not claim to have the best of the best. Just offering a quality product at a lower price.

I noticed the EGR Bung earlier also. It will create unwanted turbulence where it needs to have no turbulence at all trying to make that sharp bend.

    Cool beans...Let's see some results!!!

What would the eta on these be Tom , once you've got them all sorted ?
And would it be possible to make a version that doesn't have the egr bung ?

    Cheers

This may clarify the flow numbers and dispell speculation.

Flow charts are posted on-line which show stock, MS, and AMS:

I don't see where the uneven comment comes into effect based on the independent flow charts posted?

Regardless, nice to have more options for Z clientele to chose from.

Any tests done should be on the same flow bench (Superflow 1020) in order to compare apples to apples!

ideally, all three should be using the same kinda bench to test them, if you REALLY wanna have accurate comparative results. i'd be interested, just as everyone else would be, to see the difference between these, the stockers, and the AMS & MS units. the price should obviously reflect this, so i personally would have waited til the tests were done in order to determine where they'd fit in, in the grand scheme of things. oh, just curious, do these come with any kind of warranty too?

and i wonder how soon the tt.net guys are gonna jump all over this and start asking about where they're made and what materials they're made of and all the jazz... :bash:
