Hey guys, My ZED's back to standard exhaust today just to pass the noise emission test (darn thing!!!). I'm just wondering if it's normal for the car to experience difficulty starting and needed to be warmed up more than the normal length of time just to make sure it wouldn't stall during use?
Nah, I put a new standard exhaust system...new standard cat + new resonator + new standard rear muffler. This is done just to pass the noise emission test...
far out ten bucks worth of chicken wire and a couple of half closed flanges would have done the same trick
I don't think so, mate! These EPA people are very strict when it comes to emission tests and blue slips. I don't think your ten bucks would bring a zed back to the road... LOL!
i beg to differ - been there and done that the fun part is passing emmissions tests not noise test.... thats when your fun will begin... did you put exhaust on yourself? or has a mechanic done it? could be restricted somehow which could make it choke?????
Mechanic did it. And already sorted out why such a thing was happening. One of the FMIC pipes is loose! LOL! Fixed it already and checked the rest of the clamps. Back to beauty...
Guys from NSW, just a quick question: my ZED passed the noise emmision test last Friday having scores of 90.2, 90.0 and 90.2 on three tests done (hope the mechanic wasn't playing games on me as it was tested before hand scoring average of 86 by the muffler shop who repaired the exhaust!). It passed! However, the mechanic noted at he end of the paperworks about the LFM, variable boost control and pod filter on my ZED. Would that in any way affect the decisions in lifting the EPA noise defect on it? Any related experiences from you guys?
