MY 300ZX

hey all something went wrong with my car today was just drivein down the road normally all of a sudden this weird noise started coming from the engine like a grinding noise or something. the whole car was shaking a pulled over and when in park the revs are droping and raiseing like it wants to stall its a auto and its non turbo. RACV came out to look the couldnt figure it out he said its something top end like miss fireing or lifters or rockers or one of me valves. he couldnt work it out so i got it towed home now i dont no what to do were to take it ? or nothing. any help would be grately appreciated anyone that can help fix it or come down for a look or give me some info i dont mind paying good money just dont have a clue what to do. cheers. p.s sorry for all the spelling bit stressed

 

That sucks - First things first, check all your hoses/pipes, check all the electrical connectors, in particular the PTU and CAS. Where abouts are you located?

 

have u had a proper 100k service . could be a tensioner failure !! or belt skip issue

 

Do a diagnostic test to see what error codes may have

been thrown up. Use the paper clip method if you don't have access to datascan / consult.

 

im located in frankston. and how do i do the paper clip thingy. i havent got a clue what to look for and check for. were should i take it thats local cause i dont really trus the local mechanics theyl no as much as i do cheers

no good nissan ( i no there crap) had a look at it said me valves have cacked it few other bits here and there so would cost heaps to fix so i brought a second hand engine for 800$ from nisscar wreckers and there putting it in so ill have it back in a weeek

Take it (or have it towed) to Dontex in Vermont. Have Joe look at it, he'll fix you right up. We also know a tow guy who will really take care of you, too, if you need him We get both our cars serviced at Dontex and they really know them inside and out.

wait so you took it to nissan knowing they are crap and know jack shit about zeds how the fk does that work???

nissan fail mate, alot of ppl have different opinions on here, but joe in vermont or Zshop is also good mate.
