Hello all. I have been looking for a while now about buying a 300zx twin turbo. I have found one and could most certainly buy shortly. I am a car enthusiast and belong to a car club where i live. What i need to know is are they reasonable to service , any problem areas, parts. My current car has been perfect for me for the past 8 years and now time for a change. i want Something fast and furious. It is a 93 twin turbo targa top , 4 seater, black in colour. Looks as new. 72000 ks. Please give me advice as i would truly appreciated it. From a 45 year old long haired rocker. thanks.

I thought the title meant you where buying a stolen one lol... but you dont live in the ACT so probably not haha..
No real problem areas if it has been maintained well. Budget around $2000 on top of purchase price for 100k service unless concrete prrof can be given it has been done. Service cooling system including replacing all hoses, clean sensor connectors and she will give you good reliable motoring.
I wouldn't put too much faith in that mileage reading. If it's genuine it means the car averaged 4500 kms a YEAR. Very, very doubtful. Even if it's wound back / new cluster installed, it could still be a good buy, just check everything out, and make sure it's in good mechanical nick, and as others have said, check for service history of some sort. (Do not take seller's word if they cannot provide receipts - i've bought 2 zeds that "had" 100k service done, only to find both with original 1990 Nissan timing belts ) Good Luck! -Kirill
WARNING I'm a 48 year old rocker and I'm on my second zed in 3 years. These cars are like women. Look after them and they will look after you. Sometimes high maintenance and expensive. Exciting and full of surprises. Infatuating. Be warned she will wrap you around her little finger. :zlove::zlove: On a serious note, make sure you have it checked out by someone who knows zeds and have a few thousand dollars in reserve. You've been warned.
No its not stolen. Hot means very good looking. Thanks for all your advice and it will be checked out before i buy. Like everything , look after it and it will look after you. yes hot can mean anything these days . Anyway i was pipped at the post in buying a very good one by a day. Oh well it was not meant to be but i have found 3 more that i am interested in . Hey eastern eye where are you located? Send me a pm. love your zed too. Anyway back to my zed searching.
