Hey zedders, I went to take my wheels off for a good clean and to my shock i found the caliper clip that holds the pin's in place had vanished. Lucky for me the pins haddnt moved out.. much.

Here is the clip and is there a nissan part number for this? Is there any place other than nissan like PBR that can sell me such a clip?

In the short term Ive added 2 "split pins" to hold the caliper pad pins in place and stop them from wobbling out.

Lastly, should the "cross spring" that sits over the pads and under the pins just pop out for no reason? Or does that part rely on the clip that i have missing? Not to sure on this and I dont want to drive her till i sort that out.

    Many thanks.

    Cheers

    Frank

any local brake shop should be able 2 hook you up. take the one off the side and show it 2 them !!

wont cost more than 5 bucks, if anything

No, the spring thing should be held in position with the pad lock pins. No way it should be able to come out unless the pin had been removed all the way.

cheers. I think i had found a part number through nissan fast. Any experience with that cross spring poping out?

Would it be best just to remove wheel remove pins refit spring and then add these interum split pins?

    thanks agian

    hey crisp... long time...

Hey i think what happened was i got my flat head screwdriver to turn the pins slightly so that i could see where to insert my split pins into the caliper pin. The
"cross spring" then poped out when i turned the pin with my screwdriver. I just put it back into place, inserted my split pins and went for a quick drive and 5 mins later i heard it pop out of the caliper!

One end of the 'cross spring' should have a full circle at one end that goes around the pin. Normally when I reinstall these I put the spring in, then slide the first pin through the closed in end, then hold the spring down to put the other pin in. They should definitely NOT spring out if you turn the pin.

Don't worry about using split pins either, that's all that is on the GTR Brembo's (sort of, it's more of a cotter pin or whatever they call it, looks like a hair pin).
