    hi guys

last night driving home i heard some stange bubbling sounds coming from beind my steering column, when i got home (10 mins drive) i noticed some lovely green coolant on my drivers side floor:mad::mad: hence my heater core has shat it self.

im doing the bypass this morning so i can use my car, and ive read a few things that are confusing and could do with some clarity,

1st: do i need to block off the pipes coming from the firewall or do i just let them dangle?

2nd: ive read in the tech articles about the heater tap. Do i need to switch off the heater tap, if so where abouts would i find it.

3rd: ive also read that it doesnt matter if there are kinks in the bypass line, is this true.

i have searched but couldnt find anything to answer these questions.

    thanks in advance guys

Yes you can just let the hoses coming from the firewall dangle there or remove them altogether.

No you do not need to turn the tap off, it is control by the temp setting on the climate control.

There doesn't need to be any flow through the bypass hose so it can be kinked, doesn't matter either way.
