    Hi all,

Just wanting to share some engine pull pix from the pull I did on the long weekend. It sure was an experience (and no laughing about the dodgy under car jack job please :(). The pull basically went from separate engine/gearbox pull/drop to an all in one thing, purely because we couldn't figure out a good way to drop the gearbox (this was AFTER we managed to get all the gearbox bolts, even the top ones :(). We of course put the bolts back in before we pulled everything in one piece.

Not really sure how we managed to pull the engine and gearbox in one piece, I was under the impression we needed to drop the front suspension member in order to do that.

Well, its out now, would just like to show my appreciation for all the help and resources I've gotten from the aus300zx forums and community ! Although its a rather sobering thought that now everything is out, I'm only half way :( hehe

Thanks for sharing, it's a good morale booster as I'm going through the same process at the moment.

I like the combination crane / motor stand, very Swiss Army. What else can it do?
I'll bet there's a bottle opener on it somewhere...

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone =)

hahaha yeah, when I started taking things off oil/water was leaking from everywhere, I tried to put the oil with the oil and the water with the water, but as you probably know as soon as something comes off and it starts bleeding, you grab whatever you can. In that instance, I grabbed the water bucket and out came oil

I tell you though, you think a few drops of oil sitting on water looks weird, try having some coolant sit on the bottom of the oil pan (with a great deal of oil on top of it). Its like a really weird kinder surprise

hahahah nah sadly its only a crane and engine stand. It was kindah useful as we could stand on it while pulling the head bolts off (prevented it from moving every which way). The crane rating itself was reduced. It was supposed to be a 2T crane, but the rating was reduced to 1T for "safety" ... or something like that.

Hahaha awesome fun, good luck with that!

Engine building I have found is quite intoxicating, I haven't finished this one yet and I want to build another one =O

*eyes the spare block and heads I have in in the shed*

Any where else in the world it is a 2 tonne crane but in Australia they can only be rated at 1 tonne:confused: It's some uniquely Australian standards thing.
