Well the plenum i bought form here arrived today, So i decided to start the polishing process strait away, Have also informed the boss that im skipping work tomorrow because i have "Important matters to attend to" lol.

Anyway, Tools to be used wil be sander, using the typical process of going from the roughest grit down to the finest grit, i also have a grinder + disk that i was going to start the process off with but i dont think its necessary.

What i had to start with.

I'd highly recommend grinding off any casting marks BEFORE you start to polish as they will look terrible with the rest all shiney. And if you grind them off once you've gotten the rest nice and smooth you've got a whole heap more work to do.

If someone sold one to me ide probably have bought it anyway lol. But i thought this could fill up those boring afternoons on sunday / saturday for me.

Yup will do it all properly starting tommorow.

I can easily see how this job can take over 50 hours now, especially if you want to get into every single little crack and crevice. I want to get alot of it done as i dont have a throttle cable cover nor do i want one, so i cant skimp out on the middle.

will post lots of progress pics.

find a mate with a mechanics workshop and get it bead blasted first. Will easily access all of the galleries and give you a much cleaner working surface to start with, saving you additional clogging of your sandpaper. Put mine on the other day, combined with polished cam covers. Makes a world of difference

ps- DONT get over excited and hit it with too coarse grade sandpaper. The 1 I got polished came from another member who had started polishing. Even after returned, was left with waves in the top from too much aggressive sanding

i bought mine 100$ with throttle bodies unpolished... price for polished? well it all depends on how much you want to pay, if no one is looking for one the you wont even get 100 bux for it. i wouldn't pay more then 200$ for a polished plenum though.
