Squeeling

    ok so i get a very loud squeeling sound when i start the car early in the cold cold morning. would this just be a worn belt or something?

    sounds like a belt to me. check the tention. but not too tight. make sure there is no oil on any.

    fan belt... 10min fix and $20 haha. Alternatily (wouldnt recommend being such an easy fix) you can grease up the belt.

    Yes, most likely the fan/alternator belt as that's the one under the most load when you first start the car.

    Dangerously deceptive... that squealing noise!
    I had the same thing leading up to my Tensioner Pully mounting bolt snapping due to the Pulley Squealing it's little head off at startup (same sound effect) and me thinking it was a belt.
    It finally seized and it was "all over red rover" ...snapped.
    I'd get it checked !! (easier to remove while it's still got a head on it!!)
