could be anything. start with the usual suspects:

    1. Wheels/Tires: out of balance
    2. Driveshaft carrier bearing could be shot
    3. Tension rod bushings: cracked/leaking?

I will put my money on option 2.

If that is the case you will need to either replace the centre bearing of get a 1 piece tailshaft.

Labour is not too hard to do yourself, parts wise I got a 1pce made up by Jeff Lagerway in Knox for $350 change over but I think it has gone up a little since then.

Not sure about the cost or work involved in getting a new centre bearing and replacing that rather than getting a one piece tailshaft.

You are talking $500-$600 supply and fitted for a locally built one-piece tailshaft(the dearest, but definitely the best option long term).

Is the carrier bearing the same as the center bearing? i have the same problem but i dont think that the center bearing is whats causing the problem? if i rotate the shaft 180 to the rear diff would this change any thing?

    sorry to add my problem

You all forget the uni joints.

I have had vibrations in both my cars. Changing the center bearing did nothing in either of them. One piece fixed it.
