They are only illegal if they vent to atmosphere. The recirculating ones are fine.

    In other words...

If they make a loud sound, they are illegal. When they vent back into your intake, they are quiet and perfectly legal. All modern Turbo cars have these recirculating BOV's from the factory.

You can get different types of BOV's. Some can be changed from recirc to atmosphere. Some are just one or the other.

    Cheers
    Rob.

2nd. Never had problems with mine. Go to www.cazracing.com.au and look for the GFB Hybrids.

Also fact is, if they vent to atmosphere at any point, its illegal. Some people don't care and still run the risk. There is no 'way around' this.

SEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHH!!!!:bash: This subject has come up so many times on every forum you can think of.

In QLD, any that vent to atmosphere are illegal. Even catch cans and/breathers. They must plumb back to the intake to be burnt off again.

Even hybrids are illegal because they can vent to atmosphere, no way around it. EPA would have a field day.

You get around it by not getting caught. See if you can play those cards right haha.

Pulled over with a 180sx for its blow off valve, had to go over the pits here in Perth. The complaint was that it was to loud. being a blitz blow off we took the horn off and put a cloth filter which dampened the sound and it passed. Nothing was mentioned that it went to the atmosphere. who knows?

but, but, but your honour, the deceptor was recirc at the time ;) :p:p
the way around it is being smart and only using full atmo in the right places, not the wrong ones

Haha! :D That should do it.

Yeah, could do that to lower attention, but the ladies in blue only need one reason to pull you over, then they suddenly get all curious and start finding things.

as if run atmo bov's, we cant have people driving around letting air into the air now can we, thats just bad for the environment.

Its illegal due to emissions but saying that my 300zx went over the pits with twin HKS BOV's. Just gotta make sure they're not too loud.
