    mr zed x chassis scrubbin..

    hey all.

im starting this post as i have tried numerous searches and cannot find a single gunmetal zed picture collection.

im after some inspiration as to what to do with my interior also, i.e - colour matching. would red bride Euro II's suit a gunmetal prearl zed and if so what colour should all the tweed be replaced in if at all? and should a custom black steering wheel suit?

but yeah. looking forward to seeing and reading all replies.
    kindest regards,
    rod.

    Rod,

Here is the original Grey Zed thread - Here
There's some nice ones in here that's for sure, it could do with a lot more though :D

I think the Red Bride seats with everything else in black would look best, but that's my opinion anyways.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Heaps of pictures in my signature link.

Re interior I just went black leather... I wanted a nice factory look (as in high end sports car factory) rather than show car look. There are some pics in the link, guess it depends what you're after!

thanks heaps for the replies guys!!

once i get my zed back from the panel shop ill update my other project thread. my little accident postponed all work atm.

and jedi i was always a fan of your zed from the day i saw it on the freeway cruise. hense the many pictures on my comp of it.

just a question tho, im looking at remapping of getting a new chip for the zed but i dont know whats involved for a NA. what does the unichip actually do? would you recommend it ++ where could i get my hands on one.
aswell, your timing covers are gold as well as your balance bar and throttle covers. did u get these painted somewhere or do them yourself? and finally your short shifter, did you purchase this off TTZ or caz, becuase im looing at getting one soo however as i have no idea how to fit these i may give up..

    kindest regards.

Getting the NA ECU remapped is the same as the TT. Essentially you need to get the ECU socketed, and then the new program put on a new EPROM and placed in the socket. The UniChip is a bit different in that it is a piggy back device and sits out side the ECU. It intercepts signals, modifies them, and then sends them to the ECU. The UniChip allows modification of both fel map and timing map in 250 rpm increments. If you are serious about chasing power from the NA, then I would recommend a UniChip. But they are pricey, and you have to decide if roughly $1000 is worth the extra 15rwkw that you will get. I purchased mine and had it installed at Dynomotive (www.dynomotive.com.au).

Secondly, all the Gold bits in my engine bay were painted by me. Not hard, but its just a pain getting the timing belt covers off.

Thirdly, cant help with the short shifter as it was installed by the previous owner in japan, before I imported it..:)

    Short shifter intallation

Short shifter install is not as hard as you would think. It is all done from the inside of the cabin and will take you about 2 hours if you go slow and have no real probs. Only prob I had with mine was one of the bolts is a stud and had to be removed ( from memory, but my memory aint that great ). Allow yourself a bit of time and go in from the top of consol.
    Good luck. Andy
