My Z is running fine despite this hot weather, although that black 1 i normally cross paths with has stop coming. The only down side is that i have no a/c as it needs to be re gassed.

You should be running distilled water in all cars anyway, tap water is a big no no as it contains impurities which effect its ability to cool effectivly (look in a kettle you'll see what i mean). Use that and and a cooolant additive and itll be fine... On a side not i bought 10 litres of distilled water for like 4 bucks at supercrap last week so its pretty cheap..

Mine ran fine on the w/end cruise 3+ hours of driving at 43 degree amb temps.

    My car...

does not overheat in this weather. But I cant comfortably use the aircon on really really hot days with out some mild pinging at light throttle. So to be comfortable, I just drive the Camry instead and the zed sleeps in the garage.

Dad gets this pre-mixed coolant from supercheap auto. When i get a car, going to have to look into all these things in more detail.

Its good to hear these things can be driven comfortably in high heat, thats a shame about the aircon though.

My aircon is still not working, so It'll be staying in the shed until..... April

IF the cooling system is in fine condition and you're not absolutely wringing your cars neck, yes. Having said that I still wouldn't drive 500 k's in 45 degree weather with the air con set to 10 degs, or in stop start traffic. That's just asking for trouble.

Highway wouldn't be too bad would it? That's where 90% of my driving would be in.

highway should be fine yes, better airflow than at say a 5km an hour crawl over hot tarmac

yeah i replaced every single coolant line including those at the back of the block, can definately be done.

highway driving is fine, its 30 mins in the city stop start that see's the temps soaring..
also i never hear my thermo fan kick in even once so im guessing its not working..

and krausy i'd say your gauge is wrong, unless those temps you get are from conzult then i'd agree on the thermo not working properly

mapping has been investigated... reinvestigated... and then reinvestigated again.... ECU has been swapped, then swapped again... and then swapped again..:) Reducing the timing in that area helps a little. I still blame or contribute a signifacant proportion of this light throttle ping to the lack of my EGR. But the mention of blaming egr removal is filthy talk around here..:)

Well i dunno if my zed has cooling problems but i havent driven it this entire month due to the boss giving me the work van for a while.

but, i do remmember on a 40 degree day one the way home from work, i had the air con on and the car was sitting at 90 degrees on the gauge, but according to consult my guage is 8 degrees out, so my car was nearly at 100.

I wont even be driving the Z in hot weather, its not worth it. 40 degree weather with the air con on, what should my Z be sitting at?
