Do these cars have a problem with hot weather driving? Even the N/As?

They can if your cooling system is not up to scratch....Very compact engine bay results in not much air being able to flow out to assist cooling. If your cooling system is up to scratch though there should be no dramas :)

    on average? probably yeah

but mines fine, replaced all my coolant hoses and flushed system a few times and it copes well, even with a FMIC.

I'm eyeing off that 25th anniversary 300ZX thats forsale haha, if he can hold onto it until later on in the year and as you can see (if you have seen the thread) I'm interrogating him about everything about it, thats another question to add hehe.

By cooling system, do you mean radiator and hoses? Are they hard to replace by yourself?

I don't wanna drive it until the a/c's fixed. Engine temps don't budge above 86 on days like this, but all that black plastic makes the cabin heat up like a mofo ;)

Drove mine today also. Also has a fmic, i didn't rev it past 2.5. Could hear the thermofan going nuts..

Ah well, nothing pissed out of anywhere and nothing overheated, that's the main thing ;)

My car always runs colder than most (like 68-75C) Driving around at 38 the other day I got up to 82C...lol But I dont like driving my car on extreme days because of the same reason as our friend ^ Everything is so hot to touch!

I dont find it fun to drive in this weather...give me 32C and I'll be happy to have a nice cruise, much hotter and its no go :p

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

    Basic maths .......
    AC in Z stuffed + AC in XR6 great = drive XR6.

That said, my first Z had no issues with the heat from a motor perspective, but the AC in that was stuffed too.
I'm still learning to trust the new Z - but that issue has nothing to do with the cooling part of the cooling system!

(mine yours and the racecar?) :p

My Zed was running fine today despite the 40 degree ambient on the drive home. Wouldn't take her out now though! hovering around 45

Nah, I saw yours and two more on the way home. A very nice 95 passed me heading toward the island. Sort of a greeny/blue colour

Only reason im not driving mine is because my a/c belt is a bit loose and making that terrible noise. Normally I wouldnt hesitate to jump in the zed on a day like this.

Thats pretty low mate, probably not good for it hey, should be running 80 to 85, maybe your thermostat is stuffed....

By cooling system i mean everything, Radiator, hoses, thermostat, coolant, etc etc....

Ugh, I continually see them - only N/A's though :D. I see even more since my TT went in for surgery.

    PS - It's a "warm" 3 Degrees Celsius here - that's polo and long sleeve t-shirt weather.

    Come to Queensland

We dont let a little bit of hot weather stop our Zeds from running,
But using cruise at 150 kph is against the law in Qld.

Just regular coolant changes and make sure all hoses are all good and watch your temps...definitly dont be put off by overheating stories. IMO TT's have more issues in the heat but thats just because they naturally run hotter and a good cooling system on a stock car should be perfectly fine, even moreso for NA's

What about running distilled water with that water wetter thing? I hear that works pretty damn good.

Are hoses easy to replace or are they a "pull the whole engine out" thing?

mafi zed recently replaced all his coolant hoses with engine in I believe, on a TT. Well, most at the very least. Just very fiddly. You should be running distilled water + coolant concentrate in your cooling system.
