    red32 You talkin' to me?

    Yes!

Not sure of the details but it involves the thread pitch and diameter of the adaptor. You can also fit a T-piece so you can have the OEM guage and the aftermarket guage both registering.

On that subject, there is nothing wrong with the OEM guage, it's the sender unit which causes the problems.

    take them both in

take both sender units to repco, autobarn etc. Will be able to get a T-piece to suit the OEM sender unit, and a reducer for your aftermarker sender. Will be able to run both. Prolly no more than $10 in parts. Hardest part is having a second car to take the parts in with

nah i dont even use the word 300zx anymore haha

went to supercheap, repco and two other local auto stores, didnt have any luck. coventries close at 12 and i missed them by half an hour.

so looks like its going to be a midweek job. add to this, the clip for the sender connector broke.
has anyone in eprth actually bought an adapter?

The thread on your car where the oil pressure sender

screws in is 1/4 inch BSP (British Standard Pipe). Perhaps the thread on your new sender is the 1/4 inch Amerian thread which is slightly larger in diameter and has a different pitch count 27 tpi (threads per inch) compared with 28 tpi (the thread angles are different as well 60 degrees and 55 degrees). Try going to ENZED Pty Ltd or some other hydraulics place. Good luck. Cheerz.
