was just driving it to get lunch and on the way back stopped at lights my car just stalled, i was in first with clutch in. now my clutch is barely working, i have to pump it to change from neutral to first. i had a quick browse of the tech section and couldnt see anything. am at work at the moment...i know the car has had master and slave cylinders replaced in the past for similar problems as the car came with a stack of receipts.

anyone have any idea? is it likely to be something i can fix myself over the weekend? i'm not a mechanic but i have apprentice mechanic friends who could help me out.

    A leak?:p

Similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago. Turned out the soft pipe that connects to the slave cylinder had sprung a leak. Could be the slave or master cylinder though.

Fill the master back up, get someone to push the clutch pedal in (may need to pump it a few times) and have a look under the car. you should be able to see where the fluids coming from.

same thing hapopened to me and turned out to be the master cylinder, stick your head under the dash and if u see the top of the clutch covered in fluid its the master cylinder. make sure u find it asap though, clutch fluid will destroy your paint

Okay, i went over to adams and we diagnosed the problem, filled her up , pumped the clutch and found the leak, there is a braided line going from the CMC into the clutch .... It also has like a sensor on it (with nothing plugged into it, i think). Anyone know if these can be obtained by Pirtex/Enzed or should Adam get it from Nissan/Caz?

Also were a fair few zippy ties down there mate :p

It appears my braided line is busted, i filled up my clutch fluid and just pumped the clutch manually and it was leakin out from the area quite fast, the whole area is wet.

    ZIP TIES! lol...

also it appears theres some oil or something leaking nearby too? sorta near my oil pan. we dunno what it is

    any comments/advice welcomed :D

and especially what this braided line part number or something is so i can get a replacement.

    cheers

OEM are all hard pipes, afaik, so ENZED or PIRTEK way to go.

Yes. Not a hard pipe, but OEM non-braided.

wont be the first or last of these that fails.

Buy a braided line from COZ or i have a good used one here if you want it.

tek trader, i spent a bit more time looking and its definetely this pipe leaking,

it appears to have a small crack in it, too small to see but u can tell by the way the fluid comes out when the clutch is pumped.

its more that i'd rather have this fixed quickly than care about the price to be honest.

so is that the same one you have? why did u take it off? and would it be quicker to get it from u or coz? i might just hit up the nissan dealership 2morro and get one from them.

my biggest problem atm is i cant seem to get the old one off lol its on pretty damn tight and i've only got 2 jacks holding my car up so i'm not game to try real hard, might just get the part and go to my mechanic and get him to put it on.
