All the Gurus turned up, but only a few Zeds to work on... and nothing really major!! Still, those who attended had a good day, and I'm sure all will be pleased to know I bought some butter on the way home and had, (yep!!), sausages on toast for dinner!! Tomorrow will be hotdogs for lunch and, yep, sausages for dinner...!! Will probably continue until the bloody butter runs out!!! Thanks to all who were able to attend... and for the generous donations towards food and drinks. Hope the venue was acceptable to all... just a shame more didn't attend. Still, for all who couldn't make it (we missed you, Caz!!) there is no reason we can't repeat at the venue in the future. Mike
I had a good day, got everything i wanted to do done thanks again... we should also remember to warn any skylines who come to watch for any wayward branches:zlove:
Yeah, and dive-bombing minor birds who sized us up and then proceeded to drop a few 'bombs'... at least the little buggers don't have the same potential for damage as the tree branches...!!!
Many thanks to Mikemd for putting on a much requested Tech Day today. A number of people turned up for this outing(but far fewer than was anticipated), however, those that did come were most welcome, and those that didn't missed a good day of food, drink and discussion of things Zed. Several new faces made the effort to come along, and it's hoped they will be seen at future cruises and/or Tech Days. Steven made a showing with his awesome 4.5 ltr V8, and I was treated to a drive around the block. This is one very professional bit of engine transplanting, and it runs(and sounds) magnificent. Starting off in 4th gear with limited revs, and just driving away without the slightest hesitation, has to be seen to be believed. So to all who made the effort, thanks for being there, and for making it a happy event, hope to see you all again soon(you're a good bloke Mike). Lloyd & Lynn:zlove::zlove:
Hi Trev, The car isn't fully completed as yet(still has a few small issues to finish it off) so I think it would be "out of place" if I released photo's before Steven chooses to(suffice to say that it looks as though it came straight from the factory, nothing indicates otherwise). Lloyd
Moved mine over too Typical of Chili, start something then move on. Good day Got lots done, better than doing it in the drive way at home alone. always good to have zed people around for a few laughs. Thanks to mike for putting on the food and drinks, pity about the butter though. Where was everybody?, thought there would have been more. catch you at the next one,
Thanks for the Tech day Thanks for the Tech day, and the sausages & drinks ... so much for today's dietary target ... good to see old friends again.
Thanks Mike It was lovely to see some old faces and a few new ones. Would have been so much better with butter though, or at least margarine, or canola, or I can't believe it's not butter and not I can't believe there's no butter. Cheers and thanks Mike
indeed it was good to finially put faces to the names. yes i wont be parking under any trees at future tech days at least if the branch had of hit the gtr then we woulda had a bit of pannel beater to do to lol
Nice to hear you all had a good day, I was thinking about you tinkering with Zeds while I was melting at a football field with 300 screaming over excited children high on red cordial and blue snakes  Next one I'll be there :zlove::zlove:
I'm sorry Leanne and I couldn't make it. Sundays are always out for us as we have to work that evening and are pretty much asleep all day. Glad to hear everyone had fun, wish I could have been there. (and checked out a V8 zed!) Ben
Yeah, thanks, Alv.... and also for being the ONLY one who didn't screw me about the lack of BUTTER!! For the record, Dave's two teenagers 'volunteered' to go across the road to the service station for some, but emerged empty-handed... to their much-appreciated credit they walked half a mile in the heat to other shops, but could only find some spray-on bbq oil for the cooking plate. Many thanks, boys, you showed a lot of class by your actions, and your Dad can be very proud of you and your attitudes!! The bloody rest of you can wait for the next Tech Day for your butter!! And, you'd bloody-well better be ready for plenty of it...!!! Thanks to all who came... and for those who missed the chance for help from some of the top Zed tech guys in the business, bloody bad luck!! After picking up the last of my gear from the factory this morning, my sons were delighted at how tidy everything had been left, and if there's (genuine) need for any more get-togethers, we are quite happy to make the premises available again. Those who attended will affirm that we have plenty of space and the privacy is an added bonus. Mike
I was coming... ...but then I heard there would be no butter and I changed my mind. I mean how can you fix a noisy diff without butter? See you next time Mike. Good of you to set it up. When we finally get this place navigable to other than 4WDs we will have a Tech Day up here at angrybear's and cuddlybear's. Got plenty of butter.
Nice to catch up with the zed crew again:zlove:, even though I was fashionable late (thanks in part to showing some nice ladies how to hold a bat and give those balls a good wolloping.) Don't be too concerned about the lack of butter Mike as the sangers were melt in your mouth stuff anyway. Looking forward to the next outing........
good day all round, i left a bit early it was a shame more hadn't turned up i would have liked to run conzult and see if i could find my detonation problem. But good to meet the ones who turned up.
