I just got given a new head unit today and I wanna have a go at putting it in myself. There's one component that came with it that I'm not quite sure of. The fuse box is in the middle and the thing in question is at the top of the next pic. I popped out the head unit in my car right now and what I saw was from the fuse box there was one wire going to the power and the other to the grounding I think. But with this new one there's that thing from the first pic connected to the fuse. I know this is a noob question but I really don't have much experience with this sorta stuff so thanks in advance for any help I get.
the thing your holding in the first pic is an ISO connector, used to plug the headunit directly into a european factory wiring harness. Just chop it off and install as per normal
y would u chop it off? keep it there and just splice into it.. u never chop off the Factory plugs.. because down the track if u wanna sell it off.. and u can get ur hands on a stock unit.. u put that back in.. it will increase the value of the car...
The first pic is a pic of the head units connection, leaving it on isn't really going to help him, it will just take him longer.
