A better option would be to learn to drive, or buy something that's front wheel drive.

Is it just me, or do these threads get more common? Soon there will only be a small handfull of us who still have a 300ZX, at least we'll be known as the true enthusiasts :D

I was gonna say "what is it with you aussies not being able to drive in the wet? blah blah... in england we dirve in the wet every day and we dont crash and die and blah blah blah"

Interestingly, I decided not to post.

10 mins later I get a phone call from my Dad in the UK. My nephew had a car accident 3 days ago. Hit a patch of water and aquaplaned off the road

he's ok but shook up and bad whiplash

Car written off (small hatch, possibly nissan micra, my dad wasn't sure)

This is the problem with Zeds being so cheap these days. A 300zx was definitely not designed to be your first car or be driven by young inexperienced drivers.

agree totally, they find that out when its time to maintain or repair, which is why there are so many poor examples going around these days :(:(

2k damn and 4k even worse, but still I mean what insurance company do you go with did ya shop around? And how old are you? I'm only 27 cost me $400 - $500 odd for NA and about another couple of hundred ontop of that for a TT (NRMA max no claim) but I mean I started early 17 just did 3rd party , it adds up after years and 3rd party on a shitty car early is well worth it later when you get ya zed, I knew I was always ganna get one and I did :p

nods.. i agree.. and im a younging (19).. the ZX is my 4th car.. (no i didnt kill the others).. Celica 74' i sold for money for a trip to QLD for soccer. :(
.. EXCEL.. sold it cause i hated it (honestly)...
Lancer.. still like it.. but.. now there is like 1 where ever i look and i wanted something a bit more.. well sporty.. but at the same time with some age.. so i could do work on it mechanically (as its a hobby of mine finding how things work)...
and.. ZX came to mind LOL
Before i even thought about buying it though i looked around, searched and aksed to do rough calculations on how much things could cost if they went wrong...then i had to ask myself.. was i ready to afford those things if they happened and wait for a month if i had to to fiX them ...
