Out of interest whats the deal with nitrous oxide in QLD? I've read it's illegal here yet we have shops selling nitrous refills...... are they referring only to track cars? I don't really plan on doing it but it's nice to know
I just found this: In Queensland and Western Australia it is illegal to fit a Nitrous Kit to a registered street vehicle, we are still negotiating with these states. In all the other states the law states: "a road registered vehicle fitted with nitrous oxide must have the system modified so that the bottle is properly secured in the brackets provided and isolated from the engine (disconnect the main braided line from the bottle), and the supply line to the engine is physically blocked off with an approved A-1 Performance disarming kit (a disarming kit is included in every OZNOS Kit, so that the joiner tubes from the solenoids to the injection point may be removed) whilst the vehicle is being street driven." Seems if its blocked on the streets its ok.... except in qld and wa???
I know for a fact that it is illegal to have any part of a nitrous system installed in a street car in QLD, even if you are missing the bottle, they will ping you for it. Massive fines (related to number of cylinders) and impounding of vehicle. Not worth the hassles. The shops up here cater for drag cars only.
You could possibly have a CO2 intercooler spray system if you wanted. Not sure 100% though. Purging CO2 is a bit useless as your not putting it into your engine :whatever:
Better out than in Chris. Imagine that, old mate goes to flick the missile switch for a big HP hit and the motor coughs and dies from asphixiation
mate has nos on a S2000 over our way,... apparently its not illegal to be installed but must be disconnected, or cut from the engine bay so you would have to get out to arm it to provent 'accidentally setting it off'
It would be funny though. Possible alternative to water injection maybe? Where's Andy, he would love to try it... That would be inconvenient, wouldn't it
Mr Plod: why did you speed away Driver: My Nos accidently set off.... Mr Plod: i didnt see your brake lights Driver: Ugh.... Ship...
I ment the bottle you clown As for the module well thats visable but not all cops now what a nos modue looks like.
No they'd never guess that those shinny solenoides with "NOS" written on them with shinny braided lines going into foggers that also say "NOS" would mean that you have a nitrous system :stupid:
