has anyone here ever put a vg30de onto a pallet and have secured it i need to do this today and not sure how to go about it
umm... you put it on so its level then tie it down with straps? This your original NA engine your mechanic said was seazed?
does matter if its lying on an angle. just make sure its secure and firm and that its not upside-down. also make sure the side it is leaning on isnt squashing any metal or rubber hoses. tie it down so its secure and then wrap the crap out of it with clear wrap
use a tyre Most engines that I have seen transported have had damaged sumps... I would rest the engine on a tyre, with the delicate part of the sump (lowest part where the oil pick up is) inside the tyre centre. ie, so its not squashed onto the bottom of the pallet... Cheers
If you are sending by a transport company make sure the oil is drained first. If you dont use a tyre then judt prop up the front with a block of wood or something and strap it down on all four sides as dickface mentioned.
I'm going to go out of my way and come visit you next year John... you deserve a turkey slap, then we can call you dickface...lol....
or buy a little engine stand from repco, they make putting engines in utes easy as, do it at work all the time
