hey guys i got my new zed about 3 weeks ago and have kinda figured most things out but would like your opinion and advice on a few remaining problems. firstly i changed my rear brake pads this morning... and omg if should be illegal to make brake pads that easy to change, i had both side done in under 30mins. friggin insane but now my questions start 1.wtf is this button? 2.my ash tray thing is cracked and it kinda bugs me, does anyone know where i could get one from, ive tried some wreckers with no success because it has a blue interior, they had black and grey ones but no blue ones. 3.the previous owner in japan used the car for a work car and had something (i presume phone or radio) screwed into the arm rest box. again any ideas on where to source a new one or what i can do to this one one? 4.where can i get a screw cover for my vent, its missing one 5.and finally my drivers seat has a small tear in it, what would you guys recommend? i was thinking getting a retrim in black leather or gatting some aftermarket seats? sorry if it looks like im anal retentive ... but i am, any advice would be great cheers chris

Where abouts are you? I've got a set of seats for sale that are retrimed. Black leatherette with red stitching. As for the button, I believe that it is standard. For the little arial on the front bumper that makes parking easier. Was an option.
It's the parking antenna button. If you still have the stock front bumper, there will be an antenna on the left side, push that button and it should go up . Might be very hard to find one of them, blue interiors are quite rare. Maybe a plastic repairer could fix it for you (look in yellow pages for grill & bumper bar repairers or something along those lines) or see if Caz or TTZED or Cresta John can get you a new one.
Very hard to get those blue ashtray covers, try ebay ive been looking for a good one for about 6 mths, Goodluck Regards Trev
More pics of the car ... Didnt notice that the trim is blue, dont think i have ever seen one. And the antenna parking option dont think I have seen that before either.
Seconded that. With your driver side seat, be careful with that, get it patched or replaced ASAP because, believe it or not, is a defectable problem. I think it inherist a $200+ fine plus 3 demerit points. A member on here got done for a tear in his seat.
yeah ive got a black thing on my bumper but it doesnt go up or down i just sounds like a motor is trying to push something up so i guess it doesnt work you can kinda see it in this pic sucks about the ashtray but oh well oh and btw im located in perth cheers guys
It looks like its been snapped off?? I actually have my switch connected to the radio ariel at the back instead of the parking thingy at the front. You can set it to/flick it to AUTO and it will go up automatically when the radio is on, or you can flick it to go up or down yourself. Curiosity? does your button for your side mirrors work? (you move a small switch left or right to fold in or out your side mirrors)
I had one of those on my old zed, but it was disconnected when it was imported and had its ADR checks, I just bought a new console cover that didn't have the button in there.... the useless button used to annoy me lol
lol... wtf to the antenna in the front bar.. i have that button too... i may have a blue dash bit some where.. i had all blue interior and changed it to black... but no idea where it is
my aerial is attached to my stereo so it goes up and down when every i turn on my radio but i might find another use for it later oh and btw loud'n'proud if you could find any part of the dash it would be awesome
Correction: You move the small switch Left or Right to adjust the mirrors(you move a different button Forward or Back to fold the mirrors In or Out).:zlove:

as for the clip on ya dash nissan sells them for $8 ea. and the centre console lid, rip the tweed off buy some adhesive glue and trim it in some nice black leather, take ya 30 min tops
